Last night I shamed myself.
I did not fight loudly and with righteous indignation, but just walked out.
I am truly disappointed in myself, as the more I think about it, the more I am unable to forgive myself.
My "better 'alf" told me a bout a concert being held in our local theatre that was free, and a few musicians I know were playing in it, so not knowing much more, decided to attend.
From the time I walked in the feeling was strange amongst the crowd in the foyer.
They seemed to be forcing their happiness, it seemed fake.
Then we walked into the actual theatre .
There was a big screen and some over virtuous- signalling locals, near in tears of joy, looking lovingly toward the camera, up on the big screen giving a very average rendition of a Christmas carol.
Spare me. When did people lose all respect for their audiences, and in treating their audiences as idiots, practice over the top virtue signalling that is is easily and naturally recognised, and laughable.
Women take note, virtue signalling is recognisable.
Oh, yes it is.
Very much so. Especially the way it's being done these days, because hypocrisy is always recognisable.
Anyway, it works out this was a free concert put on by the local council.
Paid for by rates, of course.
That is something we can all agree or disagree should even happen.
I think it shouldn't.
It's the ABC theory for me. No one should be forced to pay for entertainment through their taxes, nobody ever.
And when you do, you get political propaganda shoved down your throat, as we did.
By the time the white "Aunty" came on to give us a welcome to country to an Island named after a Scottish woman shipwrecked in the 1800's who's history is being re written as I type...................I told Mrs Struth I was out of there.
But here is the shameful part.
Because it is a relatively small town and I was there with the inlaws who have a small business to operate, I stayed.
Then, the bloody Mayor came out to give a speech of welcome and Merry Christmas, and to let us know, in what I consider to be an act of evil arrogance and ignorance, that although 2020 has been challenging, he is sure it has been good for us to stay home, take stock, and reassess what really matters!!
Seriously.
Now this was being put out live streaming on the net, and I did not do what I should have.
Why didn't I stand up and yell out. "that's easy for you to say sunshine, you're a bloody public servant, you haven't lost and only gained from this"
How disgusting, when you think about it.
What a thing to say to an audience.
These people are a disgrace, and I didn't respond.
Now if I hadn't , you think someone else in the crowd might have spoken up, .........OK, I jest, this is Australia............
However, my father in law had also had enough and got up and walked out, and I was right behind him.
In our defence, there were lots of kids there.
Our women were frozen in social fear, and not wanting to be part of it, stayed put.
We went home and picked them up later when they could make a more un-obvious exit.
Welcome to entertainment communist style in Australia 2020.
All that was missing was the compulsory singing of the pro communist party hym, but all the other subtle brainwashing was there.
Everything was there, right down to the comments made by the most boring in our communities, like the sad old f..ck from the men's shed, or the silly bint who has never left the area describing how happy their Christmases are when they do sweet FA and go nowhere for Xmas.
Being promoted by our new slave overlords as something that should be celebrated, travelling slaves being a very big no no for them.
Merry bloody Christmas.
