Re: We clocked off on tax
The Editor The Courier Mail
“We shouldn’t underestimate the value of our social licence…,” Mr Miles said, (We clocked off on tax, 13/07).
I’m curious about this social licence the Brisbane Labor government Premier claims he needs.
Who issues them? What criteria must be met to attain one? What do they cost the ordinary people of Queensland, both directly and as foregone potential export earnings?
Above all, who voted to put that mysterious licence issuing group in charge of a government that was elected to represent the will of the people of Queensland?

Re: Where else would you be?
The Editor The Cairns Post
I love entertainment reporter Catherine Duffy’s enthusiasm for all the local social and sport activities but it’s important that we don’t forget that in 2020 the Labor and Liberal parties gave themselves the power to strip healthy people of their social and sport activities and even their jobs because a dodgy unelected foreign body said without evidence that they might die from what turned out to be a pretty ordinary flu, (Where else would you be, 13/07).
Until we punish those responsible for their disastrously bad advice and confiscate the wealth they stole from us in that process, there’s a very strong possibility that they’ll do it all again.

Re: ‘Armed robbery TV’
The Editor The Cairns Post
The young criminals posting their crimes on social media are saving the police enormous amounts of time and effort in investigations and evidence gathering, (‘Armed robbery TV’, 13/07).
Why would you want to stop that?
The problem isn’t the criminals publishing the evidence of their own crimes, it’s the Labor government’s regulatory environment that doesn’t punish those criminals for committing them.
New laws “aimed to stop the prevalence and rapid spread of material online” would work against law enforcement and will inevitably be used to silence critics of the government.

Re: Tripped by our history
The Editor The Cairns Post
I’m not surprised teachers lack confidence in teaching aboriginal and islander history, (Tripped by our history, 13/07).
A lot of it is black-armband re-inventionism designed by academic Marxists to create racism and an ongoing income for themselves.
We know it’s re-inventionism as it’s not supported by either the earliest explorers contemporaneous notes or the archaeological evidence.
For example, a white university professor who pretends to be black has invented aboriginal grain farming and flour-making out of whole cloth and is lauded as a celebrity.
No sane teacher would want to teach that when Carl Lumholtz’s 1889 book “Among Cannibals: An Account of Four Years’ Travels in Australia and of Camp Life with the Aboriginals of Queensland” tells a dramatically different and likely more factual story.

Fantasy science, fantasy history, fantasy law, fantasy medicine, fantasy education, fantasy journalism.
All taught at fantasy universities by real life marxists.

Re: Police pelted during standoff
The Editor The Cairns Post
“A Queensland Fire Service officer said crews had entered the building with a ladder to try and get the girl down. ‘We are trying to work out if they are injured or what type of situation they are in,’ he said,” (Police pelted during standoff, 13/07).
Wait, what? The story refers to one girl in the roof of the brewery, so why is the fire brigade spokesman suggesting there was more than one?
Aren’t emergency services dependent on accurate and precise communication? Why complicate things with extreme-left sex-change fairytales and blatantly incorrect pronouns?

Re: Heating costs are chilling
The Editor The Cairns Post
“Alliance Climate Control data found three in five Australians were living in homes below 18C, temperatures that have been declared ‘unsafe’…,” (Heating costs are chilling, 13/07).
Globally, 5.1 million excess deaths per year are associated with non-optimal temperatures: 0.5 million are associated with heat and 4.6 million are associated with cold.
But the Labor and Liberal parties are destroying our formerly cheap and reliable electricity generating system that people need to stay warm to reduce the entirely fictional heat-trapping properties they attribute to carbon dioxide.
It only makes sense when you understand they’re not working for you; they’re working for wealthy unelected foreigners.
