Re: Wayne Branden’s letter, 18/04
The Editor The Cairns Post
The so-called “climate debate” is actually a long-play power-grab by the political left, using the UN as the mechanism to achieve world government, (Letters, 18/04).
If “emissions” were their primary driver they’d be seeking to limit them across the board. But they don’t. India and China have a free pass.
Advanced nations are hoaxed into “renewable” energy - forcing up power prices, destabilising grids and negatively impacting economies.
The hoaxers believe that widespread Western poverty will result in the social upheavals they need to get their desired unelected UN-based socialist totalitarian world government established.
If you enjoy your present lifestyle or aspire to a better one it is time to push back against the Big Green Scare Machine.
There is no “climate emergency” but there most certainly is a “Marxist-globalist-UN emergency”.

Re: A taste of things to come
The Editor The Cairns Post
“Climate” scares, particularly about “more frequent, more intense cyclones”, have been immensely profitable for insurance corporations, Wayne Branden (18/04).
While we were blasted with endless scary but baseless assertions, cyclone frequency and intensity actually declined.
“Authorities” had to add storms that never came near the coast to Queensland’s cyclone tally to prop up their false narrative.
This wet season has been just like those of the 1970s: Cairns High students who lived at Redlynch and the beaches were often sent home early before they were cut off by flooding.
The vast amount of CO2 that has been pumped out by China and India since the ‘70s has done nothing, while natural weather cycles have repeated.
Alarmists pretend they never happened so they can freak out about them.
The claimed rise in temperature is also baseless: it’s actually an artefact of urban growth surrounding formerly rural measuring stations and warming them with the heat island effect.
Another trick has been to remove measuring stations from cooler areas and put them in warmer areas.
Cairns’ measuring station was moved from the post office, where it used to get cool sea breezes, to the airport where it cops the exhaust of jet engines.
The highest micro-burst jet-wash temperature is recorded as the maximum temperature for the day.
How does this happen? How can this systemic fraud be inflicted on whole nations? Because those behind it are very rich, very powerful, and have a plan for global domination.
“Catastrophic man-made climate change” is a myth but the globalists’ power grab is very real.
If you want to claw your way back to honesty in government and academia, that begins with ejecting the ALP-LNP UNiparty and electing One Nation.

Re: Albanese splash on minerals
The Editor The Cairns Post
The only possible result of Labor using taxpayers’ money to pick favourites in the mineral markets in their ongoing bid to force expensive, inefficient, ideologically-driven outcomes on Australians is that our wealth will be squandered, (Albanese splash on minerals, 18/04).
The powers of the federal government are set out in Section 51 of the Australian Constitution – and Labor’s selective support for specific minerals projects seems to breach Section 51(iii).
Section 51 – “The Parliament shall, subject to this Constitution, have power to make laws for the peace, order, and good government of the Commonwealth with respect to: (iii) bounties on the production or export of goods, but so that such bounties shall be uniform throughout the Commonwealth.”
Of course, we can’t expect Labor to respect our Constitution anymore: they no longer work for us, they work for unelected foreign organisations.

Re: Great Barrier Reef grief
The Editor The Cairns Post
I find it baffling that the Cairns Post continues to report as news the alarmist dribble that pours out of grant-dependent institutions about the Reef, (Great Barrier Reef grief, 18/04).
Their entire existence depends on media reporting their rubbish as if it’s based in reality so they can harvest their next round of taxpayers’ money.
If the media simply stopped reporting this abject nonsense, the tourism industry would be so much better off.
Just a few years ago the Cairns Post led scare stories that proved as baseless as ever about a dead Reef that directly cost its own community millions of dollars.
It should be ashamed of that and it should have learned from that. Sadly, it hasn’t. No wonder the term “fake news” has taken off.
