Re: ‘Robbed of a future’
The Editor The Cairns Post
It’s abundantly clear from the arguments about Aurukun that the administrative state cannot micromanage any community or culture into peace and prosperity, (‘Robbed of a future’, 15/04).
Aurukun is run as a socialist enclave embedded within a capitalist nation; the soul-destroying and initiative-killing nature of socialism has magnified existing clan rivalries.
Socialism always collapses the moment it runs out of other people’s money but the ongoing financial input of the capitalist nation into these socialist bubbles extends the agony for the locals indefinitely.
Aurukun can be healed but it requires converting it from a socialist enclave to a free-enterprise capitalist production node, as I explained in a media release on March 25.
Sadly, this newspaper and others don’t seem interested in solutions; I guess the problem generates profits for them – but that doesn’t excuse the disgraceful taxpayer-funded ABC.

Their situation will be used as an excuse for a "treaty".
Communists always take power from people because communists are 'experts' at wielding power.
Great letter Peter.
