[NFA says, Rafe supplied a Renew Economy widget snapshot at 7am which I haven't yet worked out how to reproduce but here is the current readings] At sunrise, the wind-leading state was drawing 7% of its demand from the wind, and almost half the demand was imported from Victoria, where 70% of generation was (state-subsidised) brown coal. Local generation in SA was 14% wind and 85% gas with 1% battery. Across the NEM wind contributed 14% and coal 70%. Wind CF 25% a bit below the average 30%. Wind CF in SA was 4%. This is the picture in real time. www.nem-watch.info/widgets/reneweconomy/Check at breakfast and dinnertime to see how often you will get a hot meal from wind and solar power!
