Re: It’s cheers to our Reef
The Editor The Cairns Post
Would the Cairns Post editor please explain to the tourism industry and the wider community exactly why she continues to uncritically publish alarmist hit pieces that target the health of the Reef, (It’s cheers to our Reef, 05/04)?
The Great Barrier Reef Foundation’s continued existence depends on pushing a narrative that the Reef is at risk when all the available empirical evidence emphatically states that it isn’t.
They have a profit motive to push Reef alarmism and that comes at a heavy cost to the region’s tourism industry.
The GBRF president cites corals’ normal response to changed conditions as evidence that 500 million year old species need your money to cope with normal weather.
Bleaching is corals’ evolutionary superpower and it’s why coral can cope with climate changes far more easily than most species.
The Reef doesn’t need help from alarmist organisations but the tourism industry needs the Cairns Post’s help in debunking destructive myths put out by rent-seeking alarmist organisations.

Re: Political spears hit home
The Editor The Cairns Post
I’ve often said that the Labor and Liberal parties are one organisation pretending to be two to provide voters with the illusion of choice, (Political spears hit home, 05/04).
That the Liberals’ Leichhardt MP has had very close personal connections with far-left climate-alarmist organisations like the Reef and Rainforest Research Centre for decades calls his “conservative” credentials into question.
This isn’t limited to Warren Entsch: a vote for most Liberals is a vote for far-left fantasy-based belief systems that have almost nothing to do with lived reality.
If you’re sick of the obvious lies about climate and weather, farming and food supply, biology and sexuality, immigration and housing, and electricity generation that are continually vomited up by the Labor and Liberal UNiparty, it might be time to look at One Nation’s policies.

Re: Projects to share in $4.6m
The Editor The Cairns Post
The idea that a world full of carbon-based lifeforms needs to decarbonise is rapidly losing traction amongst the wider community, (Projects to share in $4.6m, 06/04).
None of the dire predictions of the carbon worriers from the past 35 years have eventuated; most of us have noticed the absence of “rapidly rising seas” and “more frequent, more intense cyclones”.
It’s really only those on the government payroll still pushing this abject nonsense, which includes large chunks of the media and academia.
In reality, there’s no basis for the government’s hysteria about “carbon” (actually carbon dioxide – plant food) because the “settled science” is pure propaganda.
Only One Nation exposes carbon alarmism for the fraud that it is, so if you want prosperity back that’s where your first preference vote needs to go.

Re: Worse betrayal than adultery
The Editor The Cairns Post
A survey found that 21 per cent of respondents thought being cheated out of money was a greater betrayal in a personal relationship than adultery, (Worse betrayal than adultery, 06/04).
Not all Aussies have a close personal relationship, but we do all have a relationship with governments that are continually taking our money.
Most of us accept that we need governments for some things, but once they could help themselves to our money they grew out of control like cancers.
Now we have governments that take too much, with less transparency than ever, to waste on things that almost none of us would spend our own money on.
Hands up everyone who would donate to Airbus Albo and Blackout Bowen taking two private jets to one emissions announcement. Nobody? Thought so.
If you want to stop cheating governments stealing your money and wasting it, you’ll need to start voting for One Nation.

Re: When will we see action?
The Editor The Cairns Post
The high trust society we once enjoyed was literally founded on crime having consequences; modern Australia began as a penal colony, (When will we see action? 06/04).
After many decades of being safe in our homes – in the 1970s we never closed the back door of our Lake Street home – the hand-wringing do-gooders amongst us forgot why that came to be.
They started advocating for criminals, arguing that society had been wrong to incarcerate them, and that everyone would be better off if jail was a last resort.
How wrong they were, as every victim of crime can attest.
In the real world, unpolluted by activist wrongology, we know what works to keep criminals under control and that is to remove them from the community until they understand their errors.
Don’t expect Labor or the Liberals to fix the mess they made; only One Nation has the policies to do that.
