Re: New vow on crime numbers
The Editor The Cairns Post
Wait, what? The Labor government that broke its promise to publish statistics on youth crime six-monthly is now promising to actually do it this time, (New vow on crime numbers, 26/02)?
If they broke a promise as easy to keep as that, why would we trust any further promises?
Labor created the youth crime epidemic by removing the consequences for criminal activities; Labor put revolving doors on courthouses.
But Labor’s ambition now is to reduce reoffending by children aged 10 to 16 from 56.8 percent to 50.9 percent.
Why not set the reoffending target at zero percent?
Labor’s stated ambition is for slightly fewer recidivist youth offenders - not for you to be safe from young criminals.
Politics isn’t football, there’s no point in loyalty to a team that’s working against you.
Labor and the LNP have both failed you; it’s time to give One Nation a go.

Re: Delayed upgrade ‘needed’
The Editor The Cairns Post
During the very heavy wet seasons of the 1970s, I was an enthusiastic whitewater kayaker with the Barron River Canoe Club.
We mostly trained and competed in the Barron Gorge but also spent a lot of time on the Tully River when water levels were high.
It was quite common to have to cancel plans for slaloms and downriver races on the Tully because of floods closing roads.
After nearly half a century of mostly Labor governments, the road closures in “notorious flood locations” continue, (Delayed upgrade ‘needed’, 26/02).
The vast wealth that we produce in the regions is drained away to Brisbane and all we get in return is crushing regulations and rampant youth crime.
Can you imagine how much better off FNQ could be if we treated Labor with the contempt they treat us and elected a One Nation balance of power?

To comment on “Real news is a dish served fresh, daily”, 26/02 --
Dervla McTiernan is “… not sure that we fully realise how unreliable most online sources have become”. In fact, everything ever written, recorded or filmed, both reliable and unreliable, is available online somewhere, but we’re in an information war and what most people can readily find through the major search engines is heavily slanted in the direction they want humanity to go.
Who controls what search engines present? Judging by Google’s Gemini AI’s recent spectacularly racist faceplant, it’s the woke left and their globalist manipulators.
As to “false news articles”, who controls what we hear, see and read as news? Mass media started with town criers. Who paid them? Then very expensive printing presses were invented. Who owned them? A lot of today’s biggest media outlets run at a loss. Who absorbs those losses?
Then there’s the corporate CEOs who try to force woke-left garbage onto their customers but crash their stock value instead and end up resigning in disgrace. Who orders them to behave that way when it’s anathema to good business practice?
That’s right, it’s the mega-wealthy globalist-owned hedge funds that are swamping us with officially-sanctioned misinformation and disinformation. The only thing blocking their complete takeover of humanity is the US and its Constitution and Bill of Rights. They must stop Trump and the MAGA movement at all costs. But will their attempts to do so finally wake up the world’s population?
2024 is set to be a very interesting year.
