The Australian landmass has seen successive waves of human migration, Danny O’Shane, (CP, 05/01).
The first Australians were the Negritoes, migrants from Africa who walked here across the northern land-bridge during the last ice age.
The Negritoes were exterminated by the second wave of migrants, the Murraysians, who came from north-east Asia.
The third Australians were the Carpentarians, most closely related to the Vedda of southern India, who displaced the Murraysians.
The fourth Australians were the English settlers, who didn’t exterminate or displace the Carpentarians because they’re still here and their population is growing rapidly.
The fifth Australians were the southern Europeans, the sixth were the south-east Asians, and so on.
Every land-mass on the planet has seen humans moving from place to place and displacing each other, often very violently.
While there were clashes between the Carpentarians and the English there was no genocide despite the technology of the day making that possible.
The net effect of the English settlement of Australia for the Carpentarians has been much longer and far more peaceful lives, something they didn’t give the Murraysians.
Far-left activist “black armband historians” reinvent our history to create societal division because that serves their divide-and-conquer political agenda.
Rehashing a selectively edited past just creates hatred and bitterness where it need not exist; attacks on Australia Day are just one example.
Rational people understand that we’re all better off calling out the race-baiters, exposing their political motivations, and debunking their fiction.
The key to our success is to work together as Australians to achieve the most harmonious and united Australian society we can for the present and the future.
