The Gift of Wonder
Four years ago, a purge of dissidents went into high gear here and abroad. It was something we never imagined we would see in free and civilized countries. It is ongoing, even intensifying.
The targets were and are the noncompliant and intellectually nonconforming, regardless of their professional standing, credentials, or achievements. They had to accept all the main tenets of the Covid religion, else be silenced. What began as the imposition of a “science” orthodoxy has bled into many other areas, from climate to gender to political allegiance.
Brownstone Institute stepped into the breach with our Fellowship Program. For more than two years, it has enabled many scientists, journalists, attorneys, and researchers to continue their work without fear. It’s not only the financial support but also the presence of community and a publishing arm that have made the difference.
It’s a brilliant program, but one we don’t make front and center in public pronouncements, simply because the people who benefit deserve peace and security. The Fellowship Program provides that, during these grave times of fear and intimidation. The list of achievements of this one program is long, and it has made a critical difference in public life.
Brownstone now sits on many worthy cases that need support. The program is limited only by resources. Already, the model has proven itself enormously valuable. If you are considering year-end donations, please keep Brownstone in mind. It can make an enormous difference in people’s lives and help restore the freedoms we once took for granted.
And speaking of cancellation, the software platform we used for events (Eventbrite) flat-out canceled our supper club next month. We scrambled and quickly built our own platform. You can register for Tiffany Justice of Moms for Liberty (January 17) now.

Lives Unleavened by the Gift of Wonder By Thomas Harrington. The rational and calculating human mind’s ability to deliver something approaching personal contentment to you has been massively oversold during your lifetime. While these modes of cognition can accomplish many wonderful things, they also have a known ability, when the human mind is left exclusively in their care, to create suffocating closed circuits of thought that can lead to a sense of listlessness and despair.

Letters to the Patronising Fools in Parliament By Richard Kelly. One doesn’t have to look too hard, these days, to find examples of foolish patronising poseurs – the various chambers of our state and federal parliaments are ‘target-rich environments,’ as they say. A case in point has come to my attention, compelling me to expose the utter contempt in which some parliamentarians hold their constituents.
Modified Spike mRNA: There Are No ‘Desired Proteins’ By Jessica Rose. In light of this new work by Mulroney el al., it is clear that these products require recall and investigation. It is curious that the manufacturers had every opportunity and resource to assess the dangers of off-target protein production for subsequent amelioration – or at least illumination – of these dangers prior to injecting billions of people with them, but did not exploit these opportunities.

By Richard Kelly. The petitioner or the letter writer might be well advised to plan a two-pronged protest when next submitting a statement on a proposed bill or exhorting their MP to vote against a given bill. Just for practice. For we’re all aware, and thoroughly sick of, the kind of stock responses from MPs who dismiss valid concerns with obfuscation, conflating issues for maximum ambiguity, and indulging in a patronising tone to boot. If we know it’s coming, after our initial left jab, what is our feint and right cross?
FDA Fails to Address DNA Adulteration Concerns By Robert Malone. It must be concluded that the risks associated with DNA plasmid fragment adulteration when delivered with the highly active lipid nanoparticle formulations of COMIRNATY and SPIKEVAX are both real and uncharacterized, and consistent with US Federal statute CFR Title 21, CHAPTER 9, SUBCHAPTER V § 351, the products must be withdrawn from the market until the necessary tests have been performed and safety demonstrated.
The Covid-19 Inquiry is a Sham…So Far By David Campbell and Kevin Dowd. The Covid-19 Inquiry is the latest demonstration that UK public inquiries have long since been reduced to an unfunny joke at the expense of UK citizens, and one would have to be naïve in the extreme to expect to find much of anything of value in the conclusions they publish. One did, however, think that useful information might be found in the evidence inquiries gathered, but over the major issues which it should address the Covid-19 Inquiry will not even attain this more modest objective.
What Will Become of Cities? By Jeffrey A. Tucker. Once you step back from it, nothing really makes sense. One might suppose that when a whole society – and really globe – embarked on such a crazy experiment and utterly failed in every way, that there would be a major effort to come to terms with it. The opposite is happening. Even with America’s treasured cities in such grave danger, so much of it provoked by terrible policies over four years, we are still supposed to either not notice or chalk it all up to some inexorable forces of history of which no one has any control.
Justice for the Vaccine-Injured: A Ray of Hope? By Christopher Dreisbach. Fortunately, the cries of the Covid-19 vaccine-injured have been heard by some in the halls of Congress. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) has introduced the comprehensive bipartisan Vaccine Injury Compensation Modernization Act (H.R. 5142) and the Vaccine Access Improvement Act (H.R. 5143). This legislation would not only transfer Covid-19 injury claims to the VICP, but would also make that program far more efficient with increasingly robust benefits for the injured.
Why are Lies so Believable? By Russ Gonnering. “Truth” has become more or less a “preference.” Sort of like you may like chocolate; I may like vanilla. You like a Chevy while I like a Ford. When we ask which is the “better” car, we can both truthfully say what we think. Has the meaning of “truth” just evaporated? Or is something more at work?
Pfizer Sued for “False and Deceptive” COVID-19 Vaccine Claims By Maryanne Demasi. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced this week that he’s suing Pfizer, saying the company “intentionally misrepresented the efficacy” of its vaccine and censored people “who threatened to disseminate the truth” about the vaccine in public discussions.
White House Covid Task Force Members Cashed in on Pandemic Panic By Jordan Schachtel. Operation Warp Speed and the resulting Task Force operation was, by all objective accounts, a catastrophic blunder, but that didn’t stop many of its members from parlaying their roles on the high visibility government detail into successful post service gigs. So we thought now would be a good time to take a look at some of the healthcare/pharma-related government officials responsible for some of those fateful decisions, and where they are today.
New Study Confirms CDC and Other ‘Experts’ Hurt Children for Nothing By Ian Miller. As often discussed, in a sane world, this systematic review would permanently shut the door on further discussions of forced child masking. Higher quality research has confirmed that there is no evidence masks are effective and eliminating bias and confounders unsurprisingly shows the same result with children.
Is Free Speech a Relic in America? By James Bovard. Is the First Amendment becoming a historic relic? On July 4, 2023, federal judge Terry Doughty condemned the Biden administration for potentially “the most massive attack against free speech in United States history.” That verdict was ratified by a federal appeals court decision in September 2023 that concluded that Biden administration “officials have engaged in a broad pressure campaign designed to coerce social-media companies into suppressing speakers, viewpoints, and content disfavored by the government.”
ESG, DEI, and the Rise of Fake Reporting By Paul Frijters, Gigi Foster, and Michael Baker. We know that the modern West has developed a jaw-dropping degree of totalitarianism, wherein the bureaucracies of the state and the corporate sector coordinate together to cripple humans outside their power networks and media channels. But what are the mechanics of this coordination? To understand one of the games they play, consider the rise of measures and standards associated with DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance).
They Profiled Citizens According to Their Degree of Compliance By Ramesh Thakur. The government was using taxpayer money to commission research from a private consultancy into grading people according to their Covid compliance score, in order to devise a strategy to persuade them into following government directives and obey government orders. Addressed chiefly as a public health matter, the primary concern would have been the health and safety of the people. Instead the primary motivation was clearly political control and moulding public opinion for partisan advantage.
We Must Save Ourselves from the Public Health Professionals By David Bell. We need legislators, and the public, to reclaim public health ethics and to return to credible concepts of health and well-being – as the WHO once did – “physical, mental and social.” This is what was intended when previous generations fought to overthrow dictators, striving for equality and for the rights of individuals over those who would control them. History tells us that public health professions tend to follow self-interest, taking the side of those who would be dictators. If our democracies, freedom, and health are to survive, we must accept reality and address this as a basic issue of individual freedom and good governance for which we are all responsible. There is too much at stake to leave this to self-interested corporatists and the notorious enforcers they control.
Press Silent on Shut Down of UK Government’s Ethics Committee By Molly Kingsley. We have all long been aware of the reluctance of mainstream news outlets to question any aspect of the Covid vaccination programme. It should be a matter of gravest concern for us all, though, if that reluctance extends beyond opinion and comment pieces, to include the reporting of a verifiable public-source news item concerning the fundamental ethical basis for a pharmaceutical intervention impacting millions. And doubly so when it implicates — as in this case — our children.
