Iceberg lettuce, the most common variety sold here in Australia and throughout the western world, is currently selling here at an insane $12 to $15 each. We are told it is because of the local unseasonal weather - wind, rain, cold, floods etc etc, and that seems plausible enough.
But I have spent a goodly part of today watching videos from all over the world, and guess what? The same lettuce is selling at record prices everywhere, in all climates. The UK, western Europe, Canada, the USA - all the same story. I know the west now has rampant inflation but these prices right across the world for one single, largely unnecessary product is ridiculous - and baffling.
Anybody got any ideas?

They want to destroy Western Christendom and Capitalism so that they can introduce price controls and income control.
You will own nothing and be happy.
And Australia already has the black shirts in place to beat your head in if you dare grow your own lettuce or have chooks to give you eggs!
Lettuce is great chook feed.
