I think the current State structure has to be modified.
I'd like to see 151 States, 1 for every Federal Electorate.

I think the current system of compulsory taxation has to go whether it be Commonwealth, State or Local.
We are feeding a mindless beast that we have no control over.

A system of taxation that is competitive between the states.
They'd become low taxing, pro business overnight.
It doesn't take a moronic socialist long to realise 50 people paying 10 bucks a week tax brings in more revenue than 2 people paying 50 bucks while the other eight are on welfare, once the taxpayers can move between states, as the do in the USA.
As we are virtually banned from interstate travel as I type, we may have one or two hurdles to overcome first!

Here is the Communist Wikipedia definition of Tax.
A tax is a compulsory financial charge or some other type of levy imposed upon a taxpayer (an individual or legal entity) by a governmental organization in order to fund government spending and various public expenditures. A failure to pay, along with evasion of or resistance to taxation, is punishable by law. Taxes consist of direct or indirect taxes and may be paid in money or as its labour equivalent.
