A journey of a thousand leagues begins with one small step.
Old Chinese proverb
Yesterday started off with a diatribe of misery, depression and despair so it might be a good idea today to have some positive actions we can take right now to try and fight against the tyranny that is attempting to swallow us all.
Before we start, just remember this: The American War of Independence was actively fought by only THREE PERCENT of the adult population. About another ten percent actively cheered for, or morally supported one side or the other. The other 80 plus percent? They just got on with their lives and continued to go about their business as best they could. What is happening now isn't all that much different.
So do not be disheartened by what appears to be a lack of support for your efforts. People are hurting and are amenable to alternatives to what our traitorous parliament is offering. They just need those alternatives spelled out to them.
STEP ONE
Spread this idea as far and wide as possible. To family, friends, workmates, whoever will listen. In the upcoming federal election, number the sitting House of Representatives (HoR) member LAST if they represent the Liberal, Labor or National parties. By all means include Adam Bandt of the Greens if you live in the inner city electorate of Melbourne. If the sitting member is retiring then vote their nominated party replacement last. If at all possible, avoid pre-poll and postal voting, and vote in person at a polling booth on election day.
If you are afraid of repercussions understand you can do this without fear of retribution. For the time being voting – at least in person – is strictly confidential. Nobody need know how you voted or why. And you don't need to sign up anywhere to use this advice. I repeat: Nobody need ever know how you voted, including me.
If you do not know who your sitting member is, or which party they represent (sitting member is not indicated on the voting slip), then you can look it up at -
Find my electorate (aec.gov.au)
You can search by electorate, suburb or postcode.
STEP TWO
Will be covered as soon as it becomes clear what is happening wih senate voting.
