The Dictator Man
Verse 1:
It’s 12pm on a Saturday,
And the crowds gather ‘round for a march,
There is young, and there’s old and there’s middling,
As they start to walk on demarche.
They say, “Dan, can you let us get out of this,”
We’ve nothing that’s left of our lives,
We’re struggling and striving; but no longer thriving,
As you lock us up to survive.
(Refrain)
la, la-la, di-dee-da,
la-la, di-dee-da, da-dum.
Chorus:
Let us get out, now, Dictator Dan,
Let us get out tonight,
We cannot survive this monstrosity,
And we are no longer alright.
Verse 2:
There are kids who no longer can go to school,
Their playgrounds no longer get used,
No food on the table, their parents unable,
To go out to work; their refused.
But the pollies continue on salaries,
As the police roam around in control,
While the streets have become a great gallery,
For shooting the populace whole.
Verse 3:
This song was about a piano bar,
And the lives of the patrons discussed,
If only we could join their reverie,
But our freedoms have all blown to dust.
Though the patrons did gather from loneliness,
As they sat all as one at the bar,
But this hell that we’re living; in towns and in cities,
Is worse than their loneliness charge.
Verse 4:
I remember what life was just yesterday,
With the family out for a drive,
And the kids in the back; and the picnic on track,
As the radio sang out the vibe.
If Dan does not know what’s good for him,
I’ll give him a bit of a clue,
When the dust does all settle; and we’ve seen all his metal,
His time will be finished on cue.
