Wow. People were protesting because of doubts about the accuracy of a disease test used on an alpaca (11/8). Imagine the protests when people learn that covid tests are wildly inaccurate and lockdowns were done on false positive tests? It's going to be epic. VL, Smithfield
Yeah, nah, I'll take the IPCC seriously when they start insisting India and China stop building coal burning power stations. The IPCC is just a way to redistribute wealth from stupid countries to smarter countries. There's more grifters per square metre around fountains of taxpayers' money than anywhere else on the planet. Mark W. Redlynch
I've been saying from the beginning of covid that any school time lost to lockdowns should be taken out of school holidays. Are we all in this together or not? Parent, Bayview Gardens
I rang federal health and asked for the number of the lab that does the covid tests. I rang them and asked what the difference is between the tests for covid and the test for Delta. There isn't any - it's the same test. So I asked how the Govt knows how many Delta cases there are. She said I'd have to ask the Govt. Francine, Whitfield
There's no AIDS vaccine, but there's some pretty effective treatments. Why then, is all the focus on covid vaccines (11/8) and no mention at all, anywhere, ever, of covid treatments? Cedric, Kuranda
Great letter, Ian Horn (CP 11/8). It's worth looking at why CHO Dr Jeannette Young created all the doubts about AstraZeneca without disclosing that her husband Professor Graeme Nimmo was on a Pfizer board. Also, it's a sign of how useless the LNP has become that they aren't all over that story. Davos Dave, Cairns
(CP 11/8) Why do corals off Cairns need help? AIMS just released a report that the Reef is in fantastic shape. www.aims.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-07/AIMS%20Long%20Term%20Monitoring%20Program%20Annual%20Summary%20Report%20on%20Coral%20Reef%20Condition%20%28GBR%29%202020-2021_July2021.pdf
CORAL REEF CONDITION 2020/2021

Are these institutions schizophrenic? Diver, Portsmith
The age of consent in New York and London has been 16 for a very long time, so the rape accuser (11/08) is wrong about being a "child." And if she was genuinely raped, why didn't she report it to authorities at that time? Glenys, Stratford
Groan - here we go again with the climate luvvies running around with their hair on fire, screaming at the sky dragons (CP, 11/8). It has to be a mental illness because it's not happening in the real world. Trevor, Brinsmead
CP. 11/8. Do we put our climate dead in the green bin and our covid dead in the red bin? Or is it the other way around? Woz, Parramatta Park
ScoMo (CP, 11/08). Stop buying into the UN's scams. CO2 does not control temperature. See Wein's Law, Planck's Law, Henry's Law and the Laws of Thermodynamics. Go ask Senator Rennick - he can explain it to you in person. Prof D, Kuranda
Since 1988 all we've heard is global warming this and climate crisis that - but, ironically, the climate is just like it was in 1988. Go figure. Mariner, Portsmith
Townsville, Magnetic Island, Mareeba and Cairns all had Delta carriers roaming around - but nobody else caught it. Are the tests dodgy or is the whole saga some sort of government delusion? Tracie, Westcourt
Good grief, the Premier is using polling company Ipsos Public Affairs to run a “COVID-19 Key Insights Project” and is using research she won't release to shape the government’s approach to Covid. There's your proof that all this stress and hassle is not about a disease or there would be need for the focus groups. Higgs, Tolga
Why not build another servo on cane land at Yorkeys? The concept of "good quality agricultural land" needing to be preserved for agricultural use has faded from council minds. I mean, Tablelands Council approved an enormous car yard on "golden triangle" land outside Atherton, which was probably some of the best cropping land in the country. Shameful stupidity. Theresa, Atherton
"Rush hour reduced to hush" (CP, 11/08). When people realise there was no need to treat covid any differently to any other cold or flu there will be a backlash against those who told us so many lies. That list includes some doctors, most politicians and all of the media. Joanne, Manunda
If there's a climate crisis (CP, 11/08), why hasn't the IPCC and the UN demanded that India, China and Japan stop building new coal-fired power plants? Darryl, Westcourt
Aussies have never trusted used car salesmen, politicians or journalists, but since covid (influenza C) we now don't trust experts, doctors, teachers, police or scientists either. Marisa, White Rock
Crocs are a native species but we murder them when they inadvertently snack on a remote area swimmer (11/08). Crown of Thorns starfish are a native species but we murder them because we don't understand their vital evolutionary niche. We truly are an ignorant and evil species. Tomi, Cairns
The cabbie was infectious in the community for ten days with the highly contagious delta variant. 4260 people were tested in the last 24 hours and there were no positive tests. Cairns was locked down for three days ten days after this bloke was detected, but there are no positive cases. Covid sure isn't living up to the hype. Jennifer, Edge Hill
