The Australian
Confidence in the quality of our governance is impossible when our foundational rulebook, the Australian Constitution, has been disregarded by state and federal governments.
Ignoring our Constitution is never warranted, justified or necessary. Not by war, not by natural disaster, and not by an over-hyped flu panicdemic.
State governments have breached Section 109 with universal mask mandates and Section 117 with border closures based on state of residence.
The feds have breached Section 51(xxiiiA) with their vaccine mandate for health workers. They’ve also disregarded the Nuremberg Code regarding forced experimental medical treatments.
Serving politicians from every state and party have seriously undermined our rule of law, yet they simultaneously confect dismay when we ignore their ridiculous edicts.
Heads up, politicians: you can only govern modern Australians with our consent – and you’re rapidly losing that due to your own unlawful behaviour.

At this point I'm sure that a few dozen people randomly selected from the taxpaying public would do a better job of running our governments and their agencies than the generously-remunerated incumbents. Sortition looks superior to forced elections from a narrow field of agenda-driven egotistical populists. Zeb, Mt Sheridan
The efficacy of the vaccines won't be known for several years, Sean McGinn. It may turn out that the "vaccine-hesitant" were correct and the early adopters are stuck with health problems. The govt has been so incompetent throughout this episode that it would be unsurprising if the rushed vaccines were damaging. Janelle, Westcourt
If rejected potential PM Bill Shorten (CP, 5/07) wants to expose NDIS horror stories he should focus on the extraordinary level of rorting going on. Some estimates suggest more than half the money taxpayers provide fails to reach the target group. Jennifer, Edge Hill
My mate made a campervan out of a delivery truck and is doing his grey nomading. Whenever there's a new lockdown or mask mandate he simply drives away to somewhere that isn't punishing people. He's never been questioned at a state border because he's driving a delivery truck. But our governments are all geniuses, right? Mechanic, Smithfield
Australia has become an international laughing stock because of our herd of panicking politicians all galloping in a circle with their heads up each other's rears. While most countries are moving on from covid we remain paralyzed by mediocrities who lack any sense of proportion or the cognitive capacity to conduct due diligence. Rafael, Yorkeys Knob
COVID-19 has been a Chinese psychological warfare manoeuvre. We can be certain of this because their economy was back to normal in six weeks while we're still losing money and freedoms over it. Patriot, Cairns
Alan Sparks - that has to be your worst ever attack of Malthusianism. If the world is overpopulated why don't we have mass starvation in every country right now? Mass starvation only happens in countries with the kind of very powerful leaders you're proposing. Stephanie, Whitfield
CP. 5/7. Matthew Newton is arguing that we should all be vaccinated. What's the point? Figures out of the UK show 47 per cent of Covid deaths are people who have been vaccinated. I'd prefer our low-info leaders just leave our health decisions to us. Woz, Parramatta Park
I'm not an anti-vaxxer - I had a tetanus jab quite recently. But I won't be getting the covid vaccines until the human trials are finished, probably around 2029. Chloe, Kuranda
Politicians have painted themselves into a corner with their hysterical over-reaction to Covid-19. The sooner they wind it all back and apologise the better. Either way, we will need a Royal Commission to investigate the cause of the exaggerated and illogical response known as "the elimination strategy." Agnes, Mossman
Who else has noticed that those who are terrified of covid are the same people who are terrified of climate change? In both cases the fear is stoked by governments and extra profits are enjoyed by big corporations. An unholy alliance that relies on "donations?" Higgs, Tolga
How dare governments attempt to regulate the private behaviour of consenting adults (CP, 5/7). Anti-prostitution laws have never worked except to victimize a mostly female workforce. Puritanical, know-all legislators create more problems than they've ever resolved. Lady G, Cairns
News flash for the news flashers - old people die with/of coronavirus in aged care facilities every year and they always have. The only thing different in the past 18 months is the govt and media hysteria. It's no wonder politicians and journalists are our least trusted professions. Kipper, Manunda
Who else is sick to death of being "saved" by the world's dumbest politicians? Only Greens voters believe the covid crapology, ScoMo. Are you trying to engineer an insurrection? Tradie, Westcourt
Gary Martin, (CP, 05/07), a better mask question is why alleged experts believe masks stop viruses when virus particles are an order of magnitude smaller than the air-holes in the mask. We've known this since the Spanish flu, over 100 years ago. Mark W. Redlynch

New research published in the prestigious International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health reveals that prolonged mask wearing has more damaging effects on health for everyone under age 70 than becoming infected with covid is likely to cause. Medical student, Smithfield
Bushfires are not fuelled by air temperature (5/7). They are fuelled by combustible organic material. Remove the materials that burn and there won't be bushfires, regardless of air temperature. Smokie, Herberton

I think that's better Struth when Cardi's letters are posted separately and individually in their own thread. I enjoy reading the responses as well. Thank you to all. I appreciate.
