Two stories from yesterday that are worthy of close comparison.
The first is from the ABC and details the LIBERAL government's monumental stuff-up over the implementation of the infamous "Robodebt", which was, from beginning to end, a botch up in how income is calculated differently by the ATO and Centrelink. Ultimately Robodebt led to families and lives destroyed, and even suicides. All because two lots of public servants couldn't communicate with each other sufficiently well to realise they were each comparing apples and oranges.
Needless to say, even after having to fork out $1.8 BILLION (of your money - not theirs) in damages, the LIBERAL government refuses to accept any actual responsibility. The full story is here -
The other story is about your new "Vaccine Digital Certificate". Haven't heard of it? Well, like everything else this LIBERAL government does, it's all for YOUR benefit, and implementation of it was approved back in February. You missed the public announcement? IBM have been awarded a $10 million contract to produce them. You missed that news too? They will be available through your local Centrelink/Medicare office, and you will be able to use them for all sorts of fun and interesting things. The record of your compliance acceptance of this gift will be recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register, but it's all voluntary (for now), although doctors who fail to comply with the the new recording provisions will face serious jail time.

Government services minister Linda Reynolds launched the digital certificates on Wednesday morning, after they were first flagged by the government in early February.
“The COVID-19 digital certificate makes proof of vaccination accessible anytime, anywhere. We’re also giving people control over the level of vaccination history they share, as the certificate only shows your COVID-19 vaccination status,” Ms Reynolds said.

So, this is all to make life simpler and easier for us. Remember the last time our benevolent LIBERAL government did something to make life easier for us in riff raff dealing with this horrible pandemic? They imposed lockdowns, mandatory face masks, and social distancing. But for one perfectly valid reason or another, not everybody could comply.
