Allegra Spender’s comments on tax reform prove the so-called “teal independents” are socialists disguising themselves as economic conservatives, (“Teal tax reform push ahead”, 28/08). If socialists understood economics they wouldn’t be socialists.
Increasing the tax take never improves the economy. As Winston Churchill observed, “We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.”
If our governments were pruned back to a more reasonable size, we could run them entirely on tariffs from our exported minerals and produce. Can you imagine the improvement to the economy if income tax was abolished entirely?

There is no doubt that "government" is out of control with too much income tax and overseas borrowings.

The reason so many of us hold judges and politicians in such low regard are statements like youth justice is “a complex issue with no quick fixes”, (“Premier, end race to the bottom on youth crime”, 28/08). It’s not complex at all. If an offence is committed the offender is a criminal and belongs in jail. That’s a quick fix. If they come out and re-offend, put them back inside again.
This is the standard that we as taxpaying citizens expect and it is one our representatives and state employees are not meeting. The questions are, why are our representatives not representing us and why are our state employees not meeting our expectations? They are our servants. We pay them. I’d suggest the main problem we have is the lack of a mechanism to peremptorily dismiss them from our service.

The end of vax passports in the cruise industry, (“It’s official cruisers - no vax, no worries”, 28/08), should remind us of how allopathic medicine was turned on its head between 2020 and 2023. Instead of each patient being able to decide on their own treatment, if any, on the advice of their trusted medical advisors, one-size-fits-all responses were devised by faceless corporations and bureaucrats and mandated by corporate bosses and elected politicians. The process of informed consent was abolished and replaced with punishment for non-compliance.
Nobody who was coerced into those injections knew with certainty their long-term consequences because to this day not even experts know that. What we do know is that flu almost vanished during 2020 and was replaced by Covid, and since then the injected are dying well above normal rates while the uninjected are not.
Sadly, the corporate bosses and elected politicians who were so concerned about Covid won’t even talk about the spiking excess mortality rate of those who gave up their bodily autonomy and tried to comply their way out of tyranny.

Once you’ve researched the true origins of Covid, the alleged efficacy and safety of the mandated injections, and the collusion that created the total agreement amongst corporate media, you’ll give Adam Creighton due credit for risking his career to even hint at “The Narrative”, (In new age of orthodoxy, do not question ‘Narrative’, 28/08).
Governments and corporations have self-evidently united in an unholy alliance, which Mussolini would call global fascism, and “The Narrative” does not include the truth.
Sadly for the globalists, but very fortunately for us, nature abhors a vacuum and there is now a superabundance of alt-media sites on the same internet as the corporate media that reveal the truth.
If you want to find it, stop using Google. Use Yandex.com and start with a news aggregator like normalamerican.com/news/. You’ll be shocked by the lies we’re told.
