To respond to Sean McGinn, 18/01
-
Climate alarmists (Sean McGinn, 18/01) have long pointed to the Keeling Curve, a measure of atmospheric CO2 taken on the flanks of the active Mauna Loa volcano in Hawaii, as proof that humanity’s CO2 causes dangerous global warming. They claim the Keeling Curve flattened during the Covid-19 lockdowns – but it didn’t, as the chart itself shows. China and India are producing exponentially more CO2 decade on decade, but that has also failed to alter the trend of the Keeling Curve. Why is this so?
During the 1300 to 1850 “Little Ice Age” total solar irradiation was relatively low and the planet’s temperature dropped significantly. That’s why the Thames River in London froze over repeatedly. The cooler oceans drew in vast quantities of CO2, as Henry’s Law explains. Since 1850, the oceans have been releasing CO2 in a perfect fit to the Keeling Curve.
The group driving CO2 alarmism and frightening the low info crowd have always known these facts. That’s why they picked CO2, which plants rely on for photosynthesis, to vilify. They knew it would trend upwards and they knew they could build witch-doctor scares upon it. Please, Mr McGinn – learn some real science instead of “trusting” pseudoscience from those with a political agenda.

Sean McGinn, (CP, 18/01), the proper Popperian scientific method is based on distrust – not trust. Trust is for religion, not science.
The Bureau of Meteorology has been infiltrated by climate activists. That’s why they “homogenise” (change) historical records. That’s not science either.
Svante Arrhenius was Greta Thunberg’s great-grandfather. His 1896 experiment “proving CO2 traps heat” did not exclude water vapour. That’s why he retracted in 1906.
Physics laws named for Max Planck, Wilhelm Wien, and Gustav Kirchhoff, and the second law of thermodynamics, prove CO2 cannot “trap heat”.
Catastrophic man-made global warming is a political narrative. Always was, always will be.

The response to covid that was coordinated by the WHO had no net benefit to humanity, but nor was it in accordance with the "first, do no harm" principle. Instead it was incredibly damaging and will probably hurt people for generations to come. Chloe, Kuranda
Why do the corporate and government leaders currently meeting at Davos need 5,000 heavily armed security personnel and a two-mile exclusion zone for ordinary people? They're not scared of the people they claim to be working to help, are they? Curious, Cairns
Even CNN and CBS is now reporting the FDA's concerns that the CDC lied about the covid vaccines being safe and effective because so many people are dying of vaccine side effects. We pay the TGA to double check the CDC's and FDA's research. They failed to do so. These injections must be stopped and those who approved them must face trial for criminal negligence. CT, Cairns
To the GCB anon who saw a TV program (I kid you not!) that reckons seas have risen in Sydney Harbour (Chatroom, 17/1), you need to check the Fort Denison sea level gauge, which shows 102 mm of rise since 1886 (high confidence figures) on a straight-line trend fully accounted for by oceanic thermal expansion from solar heating after the bitter cold of the 1300 to 1850 Little Ice Age. Harvey, Westcourt (Texts, CP, 17/1). NASA, WMO, and NOAA have embedded activist staff who say things the data doesn't support. They only get the "hottest on record" claim by starting that record in the 1950s and ignoring the much-hotter 1930s. Just this week NOAA's State Climate Extreme Committee (SCEC) reported that "not a single record was set for high or low temperatures, rainfall, snowfall, or hail in 2022". The activists are lying to you about a climate emergency, Harvey. It's how they get their money. Woz, Parramatta Park

Jacqui Lambie asserts that floods and bad weather events are “only getting worse”, (In times of trouble, we can’t always rely on ADF, 17/01), but that claim is not remotely true.
Australia has always been, as Dorothea Mackellar wrote about 115 years ago, a land of “droughts and flooding rains” and of “flood and fire and famine”.
Old newspapers available online from the National Library reported more extreme weather than we have now - despite activists at BoM airbrushing it from the official records.
We’d have more SES and rural fire volunteers if governments didn’t make their life miserable with onerous regulations and mind-numbing repetitions of basic training.
We’d have fewer flood affected homes if council hadn’t permitted suburban construction on flood plains and if governments built some dams.
The reality is that the number of deaths from adverse weather have plummeted since humanity harnessed hydrocarbon fuels, built solid structures, and established early warning systems.
As to deploying the ADF against Australians during the plandemic, that was a national disgrace which must be addressed by the courts in the future.
We wouldn’t need ADF to be involved in any civil activities if our governments weren’t so blisteringly incompetent.

There’s an easy way to solve the rural doctor scarcity issue, (D’Ath sidelined after Miles steps in as worried, 17/01).
All medicos are effectively contracted to Medicare and rely on their Medicare provider number for their income.
The federal government could simply pin provider numbers to postcodes.
Rural doctors could move to the city by swapping provider numbers with a city doctor seeking a tree change.
Of course, that would only happen if we had competent governments who actually wanted to make things better.

Several issues arise from your report “Nazi flags and weapons on show at fair”, (17/01).
1. If history is hidden, it will be forgotten. That’s not in the Jews’ interests or any other religious groups.
2. If any particular item is banned from sale, it will simply remove it from the taxable supply chain and it will be sold on the black market without tax.
3. The Nazis were, indeed, a vile group. They were practising “eugenics”, which was “settled science” at the time and was taught in British and American universities.
4. The Nazis murdered vast numbers of innocent people, but not as many as Planned Parenthood in the US, which has killed an estimated 30 million African-American unborn babies in the post-war era.
5. Eugenics did not end with the Nazis. It has re-emerged as abortion, euthanasia, and vaccine mandates.
6. The Nazis were not right wing. They were national socialists. Hitler was only to the right of Stalin.
7. Modern socialists who promote abortion, euthanasia, and vaccine mandates are the new eugenicists and the new Nazis.

I disagree with Tony West (Range road solutions) and Byron Burman (Look at bigger picture).
The Kuranda Range road is not merely a service road for Kuranda. It’s a regional highway to the Tablelands, Cape, and Gulf.
It passed “Level of Service E”, the worst rating, in the 2000s – so Main Roads changed the rating scale to argue it doesn’t need upgrades.
“Banning semi-trailers” is not a viable solution unless there’s an alternative route.
The main cause of crashes is the slippery surface – but Main Roads refuses to fix it.
Arguing a “billion-dollar tunnel” takes money from “elective surgery” is simply wrong if the tunnel is paid for by being part of a larger project.
As I said here on 29/12…
“The (Links Drive) tunnel spoil would be combined with dredge spoil to bund, fill, and cap four square kilometres of East Trinity salt-flats and scrubland.
“That new near-CBD land would be sold to pay for the tunnel, the (harbour) dredging, the land reclamation, (and) the two bridges to connect it to the CBD…”.
Begone, naysayers. We need to reclaim our former positivity and entrepreneurial spirit.

To question the WEF enemies in our midst -
By now most Australians have heard of the thoroughly evil globalist organisation called “the World Economic Forum” and how they want us commoners to get microchipped, live in pods, never travel for more than 15 minutes, only use bicycles, eat bugs, own nothing, and be happy. All of that was on their own website until it got too many hits and was taken down.
The WEF’s boss, Klaus Schwab, who even dresses like a Bond villain, is on film bragging about how “ve penetrate ze cabinets” of Western governments. In our federal government, Greens Senator Sarah Hansen-Young, Liberal Senator Andrew Bragg, and Labor Minister for Cyber Security Clare O’Neil are all WEF-trained “Young Global Leaders”, as was pandemic era health minister, Liberal Greg Hunt.
But the WEF doesn’t stop at placing its trainees and affiliates in our governments. Its alleged list of Australian attendees to next week’s Davos meeting has been leaked - (https://pdfhost.io/v/iQcoMymLN_WEFpdf
WEF.pdf.pdf | PDF Host PDF Host read free online - WEF.pdf.pdf pdfhost.io ).
Allegedly attending are Peter Holmes à Court, Australian Financial Review, Genevieve Bell, Distinguished Australian Professor, Julie Bishop, Former Foreign Affairs Minister and Chancellor of Australian National University, Brian Schmidt, Vice-Chancellor of Australian National University, Caroline Cox, Vice President of BHP, Mike Henry, CEO of BHP, Timothy Ayres, Assistant Minister for Trade, Andrew ‘Twiggy’ Forrest, Fortescue Metals, Elizabeth Gaines, Fortescue Metals, Jade Hameister, teen environmental activist, Julie Inman Grant, eSafety Commissioner, Naomi Flutter, Wesfarmers, and Michael Schneider, Bunnings.
Also allegedly attending from Australia are “Select public figures, who have confirmed their participation, have asked to be unlisted for the moment and will be included at a later stage.”
Now that the WEF has merged with the UN and controls military assets, should those working to achieve its anti-humanist agenda be considered agents of a foreign power? Should they be removed from our parliaments and taxpayer-funded institutions, and their companies boycotted?

Scientific and economic dunce Anthony Albanese wants industry to cut emissions of the gas that plants rely on for photosynthesis and which is already extremely rare in the atmosphere to satisfy an entirely false belief that said gas can store heat, which is self-evidently wrong.
He wants to divide Australia along racial lines by giving aboriginals a second voice to parliament, and then calls aboriginals who are against it “disingenuous”, thus creating the “disingenuous indigenous” sub-minority.
The inevitable outcomes of the ineffably incompetent Albanese’s budget, (Low pain, slow gain budget, 14/01) will be higher prices, fewer jobs, more offshoring of industries, more poverty, more hardship, more racism, and more dependence on government for survival - but no change whatsoever to temperatures or climate.

It’s not a lack of mental health care causing “one in five Australians” to experience “suicidal ideation”, (Why the ‘middle-age, middle-wage’ are facing a suicide crisis, 14/01).
Rather, it was governments all turning into tyrants overnight, in lock step with other governments around the world, and stripping us of our God-given rights because of a pretty ordinary flu.
Remember, flu almost disappeared during the covid “pandemic”, and the number of covid deaths were roughly what we’d have seen from flu.
As to the soaring cost of living, that too is an artefact of insane government policies forcing up the price of energy and stifling productivity with unwarranted regulations and excessive taxation.
For optimum mental health we need less government, less tax, less regulation, more freedom, constitutionally guaranteed limitations on governments, and the return of our stolen individual rights.
