The Australian
“Federally funded energy rebates for households to help with soaring power bills would be funnelled through state governments in exchange for NSW and Queensland capping coal prices…” (The Australian, 09/12).
Genius! Choke off the supply of proven hydrocarbon fuels while subsidising renewables, which simply cannot provide cheap baseload electricity, drive up power prices, and then subsidise households to try and fix the mess you’ve made. True magic pudding economics.
And seriously, price caps? The Roman Emperor Diocletian (284 - 305 AD) was first to try those. They failed then and have failed ever since.
ALP (and LNP) energy policy is like someone clinging to a branch high in a hydrocarbon tree letting go and hoping like mad he can grab a branch in the neighbouring renewables tree as he plummets towards a certain hard landing.
We’re led by idiots and they’re taking us to energy poverty and unavoidable economic collapse.

The national cabinet meeting was delayed two days after (the fully vaccinated) Mr Albanese tested positive for Covid on Monday afternoon.” (TB, 09/12)
The latest NSW Covid data (https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/covid-19/Pages/weekly-reports.aspx) shows that over the past week not a single vaccine free person was admitted to hospital with Covid, compared to 296 quadruple-vaxxed and 170 triple-vaxxed.
Over the past seven weeks a total of 1,251 quadruple-vaxxed people have been admitted to hospital with Covid in NSW, compared to just 4 vaccine-free.
An extra 15,400 people died in the first eight months of the year, according to ABS data (https://www.abs.gov.au/statistics/health/causes-death/provisional-mortality-statistics/latest-release) by the Actuaries Institute, with around one-third of those having no link to Covid.
The Actuaries Institute spokeswoman, Karen Cutter, said the 13 per cent increase in deaths was an “incredibly high number for mortality”. But, yeah, “safe and effective”. Rightio, whatever.
