The more “cheaper” wind and solar are added to the grid the higher power bills go, (More power bill pain on the way, 09/12).
There are solid engineering reasons for that, however the political ideologues controlling policy choose to ignore that reality.
The PM’s latest delusion is that he can control power prices with a coal price cap. That will fail, as “History Guy” noted in the texts section (CP, 09/12).
The modern societies we take for granted were built on reliable and affordable energy from hydrocarbon fuels – and we’re blessed with an abundance of them.
Renewables can’t produce reliable and affordable energy – that’s been proven all around the world.
Along with our manufacturing industries, our politicians have exported most of our brightest STEM graduates - who might have run nuclear plants.
That leaves us two options; follow China’s example and build new coal-fired power stations, or become a poverty-stricken third world nation.

National leaders in Europe will be responsible for cold weather deaths -
In the first week of the northern winter, the UK has already suffered from incredibly cold weather. Meteorologists have forecast the cold will spread throughout Europe. Long-term forecasts suggest this could be one of Europe’s coldest winters ever.
Modern societies with reliable energy have not suffered loss of life due to extremes of temperature for generations now – long enough for populations to have forgotten that cold kills more people than does heat.
The UK and Europe have shut down many of their reliable power sources and have tried to wing it on wind and solar – and gas from Russia, which NATO just picked a fight with. Sadly for the lower income people, the UK and Europe are about to rediscover the fatal effects of cold weather without reliable and affordable energy.
The leaders who ignored Planck’s Law, Wien’s Displacement Law, Kirchhoff’s Law of Thermal Radiation, and the Second Law of Thermodynamics, which prove CO2 is a net coolant in the atmosphere, will be personally responsible for the coming deaths.

TikTok (CP, 08/12) is Chinese spyware. Anyone using it is handing all that information to the most despotic nation on Earth. Its algorithms in non-Chinese nations are set to allow any sort of depravity. In China those algorithms only permit decent behaviour. In other words, it's an attack on our society. Karl, Earlville
Good question about the wind turbines, Rodney Phillips, (CP, 812). The overseas experience is that the turbines will change hands a couple of times with the final owners after the profits have all been milked out being a shell company which declares bankruptcy and leaves the mess for the land's owners to deal with. Batman, Ravenshoe
With regard to the editorial of 8/12, does the US really have our back? Those who follow US events closely are aware that their government has been hijacked by a lawless cabal who steal elections, open the borders, shut down domestic energy supplies, facilitate child trafficking, ignore the constitution, obey the globalists, and weaponise government departments against their own citizens. If there was no money or political advantage in defending us, they wouldn't. CT, Townsville
There are still contributors to Text The Editor who are confusing weather with climate. Climate is a thirty year trend - and it is flat line. Remove all the "homogenising" of the records and the weather and the climate are as they were in 1990. Ipso facto, "climate change" is political, not empirical.
No point having comfy seats in cinemas if they're going to show woke movies that preach insane anti-Western values. Film Buff, Earlville
Without reflecting on the specific matter of the MP's son, (CP, 8/12), the federal government has passed legislation that lets it delete, modify, OR ADD material to a computer or phone. What an easy way for the corruptocracy to get rid of its political enemies. Annie, Mt Sheridan
If you do a 2018 date range internet search for Ukraine (letters, 8/12), you'll see lots of stories about how corrupt Ukraine was and how it was the hide-out of the WWII-era Nazis. The civil war there has been going on since 2014 and is between two parts of one former country. What changed recently to make Ukraine good and Russia bad? Russia's bad press is because political criminals in the West have been using Ukraine for money laundering and child sex trafficking. Travis, Westcourt
My question about Uber (CP, 8/12) is why it doesn't have to pay for taxi licenses? Or conversely, why taxi license owners weren't refunded once Uber found a way around the taxi rules? Bernie, Mooroobool
Re Albo and his coal price cap on coal (08/12). Roman Emperor Diocletian (284 - 305 AD) made the first attempt at capping prices. It was a spectacular failure. Price caps have been tried repeatedly ever since. They have always failed. Albo is dooming himself to failure. History Guy, Freshwater
It must be awful to be a journalist in 2022. To read the ABS figures and the insurance actuaries reports about the huge spikes in excess deaths after the vaccine roll-out and be unable to report it. To see all the fit young people dying suddenly of no reported cause and have to remain silent. To know the conspiracy theorists were far more accurate than the corporate bosses. Those excess deaths have or will include your friends and family members. A price cap on coal, eh, Albo (PM tells states to cap coal price, 07/12)? Stalin would be proud. Here’s a better idea. Simply admit you’ve been conned on the atmospheric physics of CO2, in a way that Xi Jinping has not been, and tell the WEF’s UN to wrack off.
It is incumbent on you, Albo, to learn basic CO2 and CH4 physics. Get an unbiased physicist to run you through Planck’s Law, Wien’s Displacement Law, Kirchhoff’s Law of Thermal Radiation, the Second Law of Thermodynamics, the Stefan-Boltzmann Law, and Stokes shift as they apply to CO2 and CH4. They are net coolants in the atmosphere.
You’re supposed to be our national leader, Albo, not the WEF’s agent in Australia. It’s your job to understand the con, and to act to preserve our economy and our sovereignty.

The ultimate goal of the so-called "green" agenda is to take away your car, shut off your electricity, send your job to Asia, and force you to eat insects. Yes, electricity costs will continue to rise under both ALP/Green and LNP policies (Power bills tipped to rise again, 07/12). This is self-evident to everyone who understands the difference between intermittent inverter-based generators and reliable high-mass synchronous generators.
Bloomberg recently reported that the CEO of Danish wind giant Vestas Wind Systems A/S, Henrik Andersen, has admitted the renewables industry is to blame for its present financial difficulties by creating unrealistic expectations about its potential.
“It made some people make the wrong assumption that energy and electricity should become free,” Andersen said in an interview in London. “We created the perception to some extent. So we are to blame for it. That was a mistake.”

To respond to claims about “heatwaves”
-
During the current interglacial period, the era with the most life was the “Holocene Climatic Optimum” (HCO) roughly 10,500 to 5,000 years ago. Temperatures were several degrees warmer than now, and seas were two metres higher. Life loves warmth and the rainwater that comes with it, and all species increased their numbers dramatically.
Yet now the adherents to the notion that cold is better than warmth tell us that temperatures in the low- to mid-thirties are a “heatwave” or “severe heatwave” (“Heat is on as wet season holds off”). It’s subliminally suggested that heat is bad, but somehow our species thrived in summers averaging 40C before we had modern luxuries like reticulated water and air-conditioning.
The “heat is bad” messaging is intended to support the irrational war on CO2 – which was far higher during the HCO because of the effects of Henry’s Law. Then, as now, CO2 concentrations are an artefact of sea surface temperature, which in turn is an artefact of solar activity. Those driving the anti-CO2 narrative are the enemies of our nation who want us deindustrialised so we’re easier to invade and conquer.

It is an undeniable fact that the most harmonious and successful nations on Earth were founded with the application of Judeo-Christian morals, ethics, and law - Australia included.
The British colonists did not enslave the resident aboriginal people in1788 because British courts had begun freeing slaves in colonies in 1772 (Somerset v Stewart).
In the 21st century slavery still exists in China and certain other Asian, Middle Eastern, and African nations, none of which apply the Christian ethos.
Now we read (Schools in Grinch mode for Christmas, 6/12) that the Queensland Government is discouraging the celebration of Christmas, the Christian calendar’s major event, in our schools. Why?
One of the globalist World Economic Forum’s stated goals is to eliminate all the ancient religions and to replace it with their “Great Narrative”.

On “trusting” and “following” science -
During my career as a physicist, I worked with some highly credentialled individuals who thought deeply, but not clearly. Other former colleagues fit the stereotypes of "the absent-minded professor" and "the mad scientist". Not all brilliant people are wise or ethical.
Who remembers all the movies that featured mad or unethical scientists. Notice they've been absent over the last few decades? Why did the studios stop making them? Did that plot device lose effectiveness? Or was the populace being trained to "trust the science"?
These days, with the climate change narrative, we're told to "trust" the "97% of climate scientists". However, precisely none of their dire forecasts have eventuated. The net result of all the extra public expenditure has been exactly no change to either the climate or the atmospheric gas mix. The opportunity cost, however, was fewer hospitals, crowded roads, and jobs sent to Asia.
And if we dig down to the origin of the "97%" we find it was 97% of the 89 alarmist scientists who made their living promoting this anti-scientific nonsense. The "97%" was clever marketing, but it was not Popperian science. I've previously explained the "hard science" laws of physics that empirically prove atmospheric CO2 is a net coolant.
Which brings me to the 2020 to 2022 "follow the science" approach to the covid "pandemic", adhered to with religious tenacity by non-BRICS nations. I'm not a virologist or epidemiologist but I do understand the proper scientific method, and it was not followed in the development and roll-out of the covid vaccines.
Did every politician, senior executive service bureaucrat, and senior officer of every major corporation, including pharmaceutical companies, get their mandated injections? I ask because in many countries these groups were exempted. Why did they need to be exempted? If we were told to "follow the science", why didn't they do so too?
Whether it's atmospheric physics or epidemiology, science is not to be "trusted" - it's to be questioned. That's how it is refined and improved. Nor is science intended to be "followed" - that's the domain of religion and politics, where "consensus" has a legitimate place.
No wonder the mad scientist villains who planned to rule the world had to be pulled from the movies. The real-life mad scientist villains couldn't afford to be questioned when their global take over plans relied on being trusted.

Inane and vapid politicians are obsessing about this so-called “Voice to Parliament” (CP, 05/12), but we have far more pressing Constitutional issues.
