RE: “Wages push risks longer rates spiral”, 09/09
-
The RBA has been so wrong for so long it has become embarrassing (Wages push risks longer rates spiral, 09/09).
They kept rates artificially low for far too long after the 2008 GFC, punishing self-funded retirees.
Now they’re raising rates when what is ailing our economy is government climate alarmism placing artificial restrictions on cheap hydrocarbon energy, along with the legacy destruction wreaked by government covid-alarmism.
Worse, despite ostensibly being owned by the Australian people, “our” RBA marches in lock step with the privately owned Western central banks.
We could be so much better off with our money back on the gold standard and no RBA.

The NPCs of the ALP and LNP -
Tragically for Australia, the ALP, and most of the LNP, are like the “non-playable characters” (NPCs) in computer games – little parcels of code lacking analytical ability.
It doesn’t matter how empirically you debunk their false beliefs about CO2, the molecule on which all life depends, they immediately default to their anti-scientific programming.
In legislating for “net zero by 2050” (CM, 09/096) they have signed Australia’s economic death warrant. Nothing in their plans will improve anything for us, the environment, or the climate.
If you want to see environmental destruction, just delete plant food and affordable energy and disrupt supply chains and watch what happens when starving people try to live off the land.
Our ALP/LNP NPC climate alarmists are the “useful idiots” of a murderous cult. They say they’re “saving the environment” while working assiduously to kill it.

The non-playable characters of climate alarmism -
Computer gamers will be familiar with the term “non-playable character” (NPC). NPCs are little subprograms made to look like real characters, but which are only capable of limited dialogue and have no capacity whatsoever for independent thought or analysis.
The world of climate alarmism is full of NPCs, such as “Science Believer” (GCB, 09/09). It doesn’t matter how empirically you debunk their false beliefs they immediately default to their programming and re-state those beliefs as if they are facts.
However, climate alarmist NPCs aren’t harmless distractions or extra colour in a computer game. They are trying to reduce atmospheric CO2 at a time when the biosphere is desperately short of it. They are literally waging a war on all life on Earth.
NPC climate alarmists are, as Stalin would have described them, the “useful idiots” of a murderous cult. They are so disconnected from empirical reality that they claim they want to “save the environment” while working assiduously to kill it.
The NPCs of the anti-CO2 climate alarm murder cult want to end everything that you currently enjoy and rely on and everything your ancestors worked for. In putting their anti-scientific beliefs above the wellbeing of all other people, animals, insects, and plants, they are truly despicable.

We have a housing crisis (CM, 8/9) precisely because we have too much government.
Every aspect of housing is tightly controlled by governments, which inflates costs enormously.
I have a friend, a bushie in a remote area, who lives happily but “unlawfully” in his shed.
My parents bought their block of outer suburbs land in the 1950s, built a garage, and lived in that until they could afford to build their house.
But now we have such an excess of nanny-state regulation that people can’t solve their housing crisis with a shed or a garage – and they wind up in cars and tents.
So many of our modern problems can be solved simply by returning to minimum government.

RE: “Be warned: we’re in for a tough time” -
Here’s the thing, Dr Chalmers (Be warned: we’re in for a tough time, 8/9), all the problems you’re describing are a direct consequence of your government’s policies.
You, Albo, and the ALP cabinet are directly responsible for the pain we ordinary people are suffering.
All you need to do is put down the Klimate Kool-aid, return to cheap fuel and electricity, slash the public sector, and delete at least half the regulatory burden and all the problems the ALP and LNP have created would disappear.

Climate alarmists want to reduce the population – which includes you -
Climate alarmists (8/9) have long claimed that carbon dioxide causes global warming – but they have never once advocated banning private jets, the most “polluting” form of transport per passenger.
Leading climate alarmists, such as Barack Obama, Al Gore, Kevin Rudd, and Malcolm Turnbull, all claim global warming causes rising seas – but they all own one or more waterfront mansions.
Life on Earth is based on the carbon dioxide molecule – but climate alarmists want to remove it by cutting hydrocarbon fuel and fertilizer use, burying CO2, and breeding bacteria to eat CO2.
Sunlight is also essential to all life on Earth (and it is what really controls the climate) – but climate alarmists want to reduce the amount of sunlight with “space bubbles” and reflective particles in the upper atmosphere.
Another of life’s essential requirements is water, for drinking, bathing, farming, and manufacturing – but climate alarmists block dams, want existing dams drained, and allow reticulation infrastructure to deteriorate.
Can you see the trend I’m describing? The senior climate alarmists don’t believe what they’re telling us, and they are literally attacking all other life on this planet.
Various “conspiracy theorists” have claimed that senior climate alarmists are a “satanic cult”, “shape-shifting reptiles”, or even “evil aliens”.
I don’t know what they are, but it is self-evident that they are attacking the civilisation our ancestors built with the goal of reducing the population – which includes you, by the way.

RE: “Coldest in 15 years, wettest in six…” -
On September 7, the Courier Mail’s website posted a story titled “Qld weather: Coldest in 15 years, wettest in six, as storms roll in after winter of extremes”.
This would have confused readers who have been endlessly told that “carbon pollution” would relentlessly drive temperatures upwards, and that “what rains fell wouldn’t cause our rivers to run or our dams to fill”.
So, let’s do a thought experiment.
Between 1,000 and 600 years ago the Vikings were growing grapes in Greenland. But then we started producing lots of CO2 from burning coal and now it’s too cold to grow grapes in Greenland.
What if man-made CO2 is making the climate colder and therefore genuinely dangerous to humanity? Would the left still want to reduce CO2? Or would they want to increase it?

E: “Relentless: RBA piles on the pain”
-
Inflation is mainly caused by two government policies; an unintelligent over-reliance on intermittent renewables causing electricity prices to surge, and an ill-informed over-reaction to Covid-19 disrupting businesses and their supply chains.
How then, how does the ridiculous Reserve Bank think that raising interest rates is going to reduce those pressures (Relentless: RBA piles on the pain, 07/09)?
All the RBA is doing is sending Aussies broke quicker. Fractional reserve banking is a failed idea. It is time to disband this now-obsolete organisation and to return our currency to the gold standard.

In response to Lesly Clark -
Lesley Clark (CP, 06/09) small modular nuclear reactors certainly do exist, as any US Navy submariner can attest, and they are now a 68-year-old, well-proven technology.
With support from the UK government, Rolls Royce has developed 470 MW small modular reactors that can each power a city of half a million people. They plan to build 16 SMRs in the UK and these are now completing their “generic design assessment”, the last step before the build commences.
Nuclear is a technology that has been proven to produce cheap, plentiful, and reliable electricity. Wind and solar have been proven to be unable to do so. All attempts to transition to wind and solar overseas have failed. To try to do so here is to plan to fail.
As for tree planting, if your side is so worried about excess CO2, tree planting is all you’ve ever needed to do.

Reply to Steve of Belgian Gardens -
Steve of Belgian Gardens would like an update on the approval timing of the Rolls Royce small modular nuclear reactors (TB, 3/9).
The anticipated approval timeline is “within two years”, as that is how long it is anticipated it will take to defeat the Greenleftians’ objections to reliable baseload power from a safe and well-proven technology.
In the interim, tens of thousands of UK citizens are likely to die from cold this northern winter due to electricity and gas being unaffordable or unavailable.
Why would electricity be unavailable? Because the UK stupidly allowed Greenleftians to attempt to run their grid on unreliable and intermittent wind and solar. Why unaffordable? Because renewables are far more expensive than corrupted authorities will admit.
Why would gas be unavailable? Because the UK stupidly allowed Greenleftians to shut down domestic drilling and relied on imports instead – mainly from Russia. Why unaffordable? Because the gas they get now is still from Russia but via China, so it has a CCP mark-up on the price.
The Greenleftian cult is anti-life. They refuse to accept that oil and gas are natural and abiotic. If hydrocarbons were a product of old life, why does methane exist on Jupiter and Uranus? Don’t try to tell me that dinosaurs roamed gaseous Jupiter or frozen Uranus.
Steve also mentions the CSIRO. I have a friend who is a retired CSIRO scientist, and he is disgusted with the way it has been subverted by the anti-life cult. He says it hasn’t done proper science since the 1980s.
But as the old adage goes, you can defeat 40 scientists with one fact but you cannot defeat one idiot with 40 facts.

What is Albo’s plan to fund pension increases? -
How is Albo going to pay for the pension increase (5/9)?
Will he decrease other government spending? No, that would lose him votes.
Will he earn more from our mining and agricultural exports by cutting regulations in those sectors? No, that would lose him Greens preferences.
Will he increase taxes on our dwindling productive sector? Maybe, as they’re too small a bloc for their votes to really matter – and they’re usually conservative anyway.
Will he print more money out of thin air that nobody ever created the underpinning wealth for, thereby devaluing the currency and effectively taxing the savings of all Australians? Of course he will, because even many of our economists have been brainwashed into Keynesianism and no longer have any comprehension of classical Austrian School economics, which is the only type that has any basis in reality.
Magic-pudding Monetary Theory rules, OK?
