The RBA has been so wrong for so long it has become embarrassing (Wages push risks longer rates spiral, 09/09).
They kept rates artificially low for far too long after the 2008 GFC, punishing self-funded retirees.
Now they’re raising rates when what is ailing our economy is government climate alarmism placing artificial restrictions on cheap hydrocarbon energy, along with the legacy destruction wreaked by government covid-alarmism.
Worse, despite ostensibly being owned by the Australian people, “our” RBA marches in lock step with the privately owned Western central banks.
We could be so much better off with our money back on the gold standard and no RBA.
Computer gamers will be familiar with the term “non-playable character” (NPC). NPCs are little subprograms made to look like real characters, but which are only capable of limited dialogue and have no capacity whatsoever for independent thought or analysis.
The world of climate alarmism is full of NPCs, such as “Science Believer” (GCB, 09/09). It doesn’t matter how empirically you debunk their false beliefs they immediately default to their programming and re-state those beliefs as if they are facts.
However, climate alarmist NPCs aren’t harmless distractions or extra colour in a computer game. They are trying to reduce atmospheric CO2 at a time when the biosphere is desperately short of it. They are literally waging a war on all life on Earth.
NPC climate alarmists are, as Stalin would have described them, the “useful idiots” of a murderous cult. They are so disconnected from empirical reality that they claim they want to “save the environment” while working assiduously to kill it.
The NPCs of the anti-CO2 climate alarm murder cult want to end everything that you currently enjoy and rely on and everything your ancestors worked for. In putting their anti-scientific beliefs above the wellbeing of all other people, animals, insects, and plants, they are truly despicable.
Roger (texts, 8/9) - the TV is ya problem, mate. It's a big world and an "apocalyptic" (LOL) weather event happens somewhere every day and always has. Turn the TV off, Roger, and you can relax. Spiro, Mareeba
Joanne (8/9), with respect, you're wrong. There are only 24 hours in a day, therefore we all have the same amount of time. What we do with our time is an individual choice. Courier Operator, Earlville.
Anne Mauger, (CP, 8/9) if the EU's "transition to renewables" was working, why were they so dependent on Russian gas? Stevo, Cairns
CO2 does not affect temperature, none of the covid responses helped, the vaccines are killing people, Joe Biden has dementia, Michelle Obama is a man named Michael Robinson, and Australian election vote counting has been corrupted. Juss Sayen, Cairns
(GCB) Geoffrey (8/9) the reason Labor and the Greens were wearing masks is that's what robbers always do. Mr Obvious
New UK PM Liz Truss (8/9) is just another WEF globalist. Expect her to accelerate the UK's spiral into a "decarbonised" hell. Pom, Edge Hill
Yes, Leanne Linard, more can be done to fix the youth crime scourge. But your side of politics won't do it. All you'll do is give us lip service then ping off back to your ivory tower. Labor has lost my vote forever. Daphne, Woree
Speaking of Klimate Kool-aid drinkers (texts, 8/9) we have people who are certain global warming is still a real deal when Queensland just had the coldest weather in 15 years. LOL.
Just so everyone knows, the documentary evidence has emerged that Biden ordered the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago. That's right, an incumbent president illegally used the organs of state against a political opponent. Biden must be impeached. Republican, Cairns
In 2000, climate scientists said snow had ended in the cold, wet UK. But after 22 years of extra global warming, even hot, dry Australia has more snow than ever. How can anyone still believe this rubbish? VL, Smithfield
Advocates are wasting their breath calling on Annastasia Palaszczuk to "show real leadership". She has no clue about leadership. She's a puppet. The question is, who is pulling her strings? Would the real Premier of Queensland please stand up? Mark, Redlynch
There's going to be millions of deaths from cold and hunger this northern winter. The left will say "climate change" caused them, but we will all know the left's insane attacks on reliable electricity, energy-rich petrol and diesel, and fertilisers produced from gas were to blame. Vonnie, Woree
Here’s the thing, Dr Chalmers (Be warned: we’re in for a tough time, 8/9), all the problems you’re describing are a direct consequence of your government’s policies.
You, Albo, and the ALP cabinet are directly responsible for the pain we ordinary people are suffering.
All you need to do is put down the Klimate Kool-aid, return to cheap fuel and electricity, slash the public sector, and delete at least half the regulatory burden and all the problems the ALP and LNP have created would disappear.
Climate alarmists want to reduce the population – which includes you -
Climate alarmists (8/9) have long claimed that carbon dioxide causes global warming – but they have never once advocated banning private jets, the most “polluting” form of transport per passenger.
Leading climate alarmists, such as Barack Obama, Al Gore, Kevin Rudd, and Malcolm Turnbull, all claim global warming causes rising seas – but they all own one or more waterfront mansions.
Life on Earth is based on the carbon dioxide molecule – but climate alarmists want to remove it by cutting hydrocarbon fuel and fertilizer use, burying CO2, and breeding bacteria to eat CO2.
Sunlight is also essential to all life on Earth (and it is what really controls the climate) – but climate alarmists want to reduce the amount of sunlight with “space bubbles” and reflective particles in the upper atmosphere.
Another of life’s essential requirements is water, for drinking, bathing, farming, and manufacturing – but climate alarmists block dams, want existing dams drained, and allow reticulation infrastructure to deteriorate.
Can you see the trend I’m describing? The senior climate alarmists don’t believe what they’re telling us, and they are literally attacking all other life on this planet.
Various “conspiracy theorists” have claimed that senior climate alarmists are a “satanic cult”, “shape-shifting reptiles”, or even “evil aliens”.
I don’t know what they are, but it is self-evident that they are attacking the civilisation our ancestors built with the goal of reducing the population – which includes you, by the way.
On September 7, the Courier Mail’s website posted a story titled “Qld weather: Coldest in 15 years, wettest in six, as storms roll in after winter of extremes”.
This would have confused readers who have been endlessly told that “carbon pollution” would relentlessly drive temperatures upwards, and that “what rains fell wouldn’t cause our rivers to run or our dams to fill”.
So, let’s do a thought experiment.
Between 1,000 and 600 years ago the Vikings were growing grapes in Greenland. But then we started producing lots of CO2 from burning coal and now it’s too cold to grow grapes in Greenland.
What if man-made CO2 is making the climate colder and therefore genuinely dangerous to humanity? Would the left still want to reduce CO2? Or would they want to increase it?
Inflation is mainly caused by two government policies; an unintelligent over-reliance on intermittent renewables causing electricity prices to surge, and an ill-informed over-reaction to Covid-19 disrupting businesses and their supply chains.
How then, how does the ridiculous Reserve Bank think that raising interest rates is going to reduce those pressures (Relentless: RBA piles on the pain, 07/09)?
All the RBA is doing is sending Aussies broke quicker. Fractional reserve banking is a failed idea. It is time to disband this now-obsolete organisation and to return our currency to the gold standard.
I saw a bit of parliament question time and noticed the Labor and Greens MPs were all masked but few were on the other side. Then I realised why. Robbers have a long history of hiding their faces. Julie, North Cairns
There's no point in groaning about juvenile car thievery - it is what the ALP wants, which is why we have it. Also, whatever happened to the move away from the term "joyride"? How about "road rampage" instead? Mr Obvious, Earlville
Lesley Clark (7/9) reckons small modular nuclear reactors don't exist. Try telling that to the US, British, Russian and French navies. LOL. Mariner, Portsmith
Queensland Labor's coal royalty hike is literally a United Australia Party policy from the last election. Labor are so lacking in intellectual capacity that they're reduced to stealing other parties' policies. Puh-thetic. GM, Burdell
Text, (GCB 7/9). Greenland's ice is not melting - it is well above the recent trend for the time of year. Greenland got its name when the Vikings grew grapes there hundreds of years ago. But then we started burning coal and oil and now Greenland is too cold to grow grapes. Are we sure the alarmists don't have things bass ackwards? CC
I've noticed that the less the climate changes, the louder the voices of the climate alarmists become. Is that a manifestation of relevance deprivation syndrome? Jonesy, Manoora
The near-useless Yarrabah jetty shows how useless the Katter party are. $165 million squandered by Labor on a jetty in a Katter electorate that can only be used at high tide. Give it up Bob, Shane, Robbie etc. Join One Nation instead. Steve, Edmonton
Germany has been unable to get cheap, abundant and reliable energy from wind and solar so it has announced a return to nuclear. Nuclear produces no CO2 plant food, but the green left will get hysterical anyway. It's not about "saving the environment" - it's about destroying humanity so all control can be focused in the hands of a few. JS, Edge Hill
It is a very short step from "voluntary assisted dying" to "mandatory assisted dying" (TB, 07/09). Governments must neve be allowed to kill their own people. Not abortion. Not capital punishment. Not "VAD". Because, as history shows, once socialist governments like ours start killing their own citizens they can't stop. Kenny, Cardwell
To sweet Caroline (CP, 6/9 AND 7/9), I wish I had been homeschooled instead of being abused in a Catholic boarding school. My kids went to local state schools which we monitored closely, but I wish I'd homeschooled them, too. Just because something receives taxpayer funding does not make it moral, useful, or correct. I don't sign off as "Liberal Voter" because I don't vote Liberal. They're just as bad as Labor. Have a lovely day, you charming woman. Ex-ALP Voter, Cairns
It's not "unknown territory" on interest rates (7/9). It's the long-planned demolition of western economies. It's the ultimate power grab by the World Economic Forum neo-Nazis. You will own nothing and you will be happy - or it's into the camps for you, never to be seen again. A. Solzhenitsyn, Cairns
When inflation is caused by spiking energy prices caused by renewables and skyrocketing import prices caused by the global over-reaction to the corona-flu, how does the utterly ridiculous and obsolete Reserve Bank think that raising interest rates (CP, 7/9) is going to reduce those pressures? All they're doing is sending Aussies broke quicker. It is time to disband the RBA and to return our currency to the gold standard. One Tooth Wally, Cairns North
There is no such thing as a "gender transition" (TB, 7/9). This is a particularly nasty fiction invented by mentally ill leftists. All it does is confuse and mutilate children. It is child abuse. Those who facilitate it are truly evil. Vonnie, Wulguru
Lesley Clark (CP, 06/09) small modular nuclear reactors certainly do exist, as any US Navy submariner can attest, and they are now a 68-year-old, well-proven technology.
With support from the UK government, Rolls Royce has developed 470 MW small modular reactors that can each power a city of half a million people. They plan to build 16 SMRs in the UK and these are now completing their “generic design assessment”, the last step before the build commences.
Nuclear is a technology that has been proven to produce cheap, plentiful, and reliable electricity. Wind and solar have been proven to be unable to do so. All attempts to transition to wind and solar overseas have failed. To try to do so here is to plan to fail.
As for tree planting, if your side is so worried about excess CO2, tree planting is all you’ve ever needed to do.
f you thought the erosion or real wages and the galloping bureaucratic totalitarianism was bad under ScoMo, you better buckle your seat belt because it's going to accelerate like a rocket sled under Albo. Juss Sayen, Cairns
In the early 2000s Al Gore was the public face of climate science and he said Arctic sea ice would all be melted by 2013. So how many ships took the shortcut through the Arctic in the last 12 months? Is it a number greater than zero? Curious, Cairns
Greenland got its name when the Vikings grew grapes there hundreds of years ago. But then we started burning coal and oil and now Greenland is too cold to grow grapes. Are we sure the alarmists don't have things back asswards? Confused, Cairns
The anti-life left have brought the policies which have caused the inflation which is causing the increase in suicide (6/9). They'll chalk that up as a win. Over-It, Cairns
Now that it's becoming common knowledge that the covid virus was man-made and the patents for both the virus and the vaccines were registered at the same time and that the globalist-controlled pharmaceutical companies bear more responsibility for it than does China, surely it's time for a thorough analysis of the whole debacle and for the pharmaceutical companies to be sued for contractual misfeasance? They took our money under false pretences, and they have plenty with which to compensate us. Kenny, Cardwell
An excellent piece by Tim Blair (6/9). Those of us who know that climate alarmism is an economic and political shell game intended to grant control of all food and energy, and therefore total control of humanity, to a tiny global elite have been fighting this lunacy for years. Sadly, the elites have effectively brainwashed the mid-range IQ minds found in politics, bureaucracies, and corporate offices. Those are the people who think they are clever but are, in fact, being manipulated by a far smarter and far more evil subset – the Davos-class globalists of the WEF. JS, Edge Hill
Why does Joe Biden keep talking about "our democracy"? The USA is not a democracy - it's a constitutional republic, which is a whole different system. The word "democracy" isn't mentioned in either the US Constitution or the Bill of Rights. How can the US pResident not have read the documents his role requires him to honour? Republican, Cairns
If you're struggling to pay your rent or mortgage, insurance, fuel, electricity, food, etc, you can blame the ALP, LNP and Greens for signing up to the anti-science scare campaigns of the unelected foreign bodies that now control most of the corporate world. If we'd elected a government of One Nation, UAP, IMOP etc we wouldn't be on this path to economic disaster. Vonnie, Woree
People realise that one of the end goals of the World Economic Forum and their loyalists in our governments is to end private car ownership, right? People are too hard control when they can move around freely, and their main end goal is total control of you. Mechanic, Smithfield

Steve of Belgian Gardens would like an update on the approval timing of the Rolls Royce small modular nuclear reactors (TB, 3/9).
The anticipated approval timeline is “within two years”, as that is how long it is anticipated it will take to defeat the Greenleftians’ objections to reliable baseload power from a safe and well-proven technology.
In the interim, tens of thousands of UK citizens are likely to die from cold this northern winter due to electricity and gas being unaffordable or unavailable.
Why would electricity be unavailable? Because the UK stupidly allowed Greenleftians to attempt to run their grid on unreliable and intermittent wind and solar. Why unaffordable? Because renewables are far more expensive than corrupted authorities will admit.
Why would gas be unavailable? Because the UK stupidly allowed Greenleftians to shut down domestic drilling and relied on imports instead – mainly from Russia. Why unaffordable? Because the gas they get now is still from Russia but via China, so it has a CCP mark-up on the price.
The Greenleftian cult is anti-life. They refuse to accept that oil and gas are natural and abiotic. If hydrocarbons were a product of old life, why does methane exist on Jupiter and Uranus? Don’t try to tell me that dinosaurs roamed gaseous Jupiter or frozen Uranus.
Steve also mentions the CSIRO. I have a friend who is a retired CSIRO scientist, and he is disgusted with the way it has been subverted by the anti-life cult. He says it hasn’t done proper science since the 1980s.
But as the old adage goes, you can defeat 40 scientists with one fact but you cannot defeat one idiot with 40 facts.
How is Albo going to pay for the pension increase (5/9)?
Will he decrease other government spending? No, that would lose him votes.
Will he earn more from our mining and agricultural exports by cutting regulations in those sectors? No, that would lose him Greens preferences.
Will he increase taxes on our dwindling productive sector? Maybe, as they’re too small a bloc for their votes to really matter – and they’re usually conservative anyway.
Will he print more money out of thin air that nobody ever created the underpinning wealth for, thereby devaluing the currency and effectively taxing the savings of all Australians? Of course he will, because even many of our economists have been brainwashed into Keynesianism and no longer have any comprehension of classical Austrian School economics, which is the only type that has any basis in reality.
