Punter: "It's abnormally cool today." Climate Alarmist: "That's weather, not climate change!" Punter: "It's abnormally warm today." Climate Alarmist: "OMG! It's climate change!" Armchair Comedian, Cairns
Clare of Kuranda (23/7) if it's privately owned it's not "National Heritage Rainforest". It's also not 120 million years old - the tree species might be, but 20,000 years ago that area was too cold for rainforest and it was clinging to the edge of the much lower seas 45 km to the east. If you enjoy your neighbour's property undeveloped you need to buy it yourself. Cedric, Kuranda
Parking fines wouldn't be so common in the CBD if the reliable old mechanical coin meters were reinstated and people didn't have to walk hundreds of extra meters to find a digital machine that actually works. Cecily, Ravenshoe
The Port Douglas tourists (CP, 23/7) probably know what everyone except covid alarmists know - covid doesn't spread in fresh air and sunlight. It does spread in sealed up air-conditioned rooms, which is why the original summer lockdowns were such spectacularly bad policy. Kyle, Earlville
All you people who mocked vaccine sceptics for saying the jabs alter your genes need to read this published peer-reviewed study from Sweden - www.mdpi.com/1467-3045/44/3/73/htm
CIMB | Free Full-Text | Intracellular Reverse Transcription of Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine BNT162b2 In Vitro in Human Liver Cell Line - MDPI
Preclinical studies of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine BNT162b2, developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, showed reversible hepatic effects in animals that received the BNT162b2 injection. Furthermore, a recent study showed that SARS-CoV-2 RNA can be reverse-transcribed and integrated into the genome of human cells. In this study, we investigated the effect of BNT162b2 on the human liver cell line Huh7 in vitro.

- because that's exactly what they do. A World Economic Forum video from seven years ago shows that they knew that. Chloe, Kuranda
Rick, Redlynch, 23/7. As it turns out, the polio case in a middle-class New York outer suburb is an illegal immigrant from Pakistan who has never had any vaccines. But yeah, it's "anti-vax nutters" fault. Whatever. Sylvia, Caravonica
"You're not going to get covid if you have these vaccinations." President Joe Biden, July 21, 2022. "President Biden has covid." White House Press Spokesperson, July 21, 2022. But trust the science, right? Chloe, Kuranda
100 yrs of research - no cancer vax. 40 yrs research - no AIDS vax. Still no common cold vax. But a "novel virus" appears and within a year four big pharma companies magically have a vax - all in the same week. Rightio then, nothing to see here. Philipe, Atherton
Steve, Edge Hill (23/7). Clive kept the nickel refinery going for six extra years after the Qld govt stuffed it. He could have kept it going indefinitely but the Qld govt blocked him from using Townsville port. That caused the receivership. The Fed govt receivers then blocked him from paying the workers - until he beat them in court and did pay the workers. State ALP and Fed LNP harmed the workers to get at their political enemy. Suzanne, Edmonton
(CP, 23/7) "Defunct (solar) panels pile up." Unlike a machine which can be kept going as long as new parts can be made for it, solar panels are done and dusted at "25 - 30 years". Then they can't be recycled and go to landfill and "leach lead, selenium and cadmium" into groundwater. Yet another own goal by the low-info left. Connie, Yungaburra
I knew it! I knew abortions were being used as birth control by some in the US (CP, 23/7). Preventing a pregnancy is a whole different thing to killing a unique human being in the womb. Mother-of-four, Cairns
Sleepy Joe Biden has had 4 covid jabs and now has covid for the third time. What an effective vaccine! Nurse G., Westcourt
RE: masks (23/7). Catholic Education should know that God gave us immune systems so we didn't need masks. As educated folks, they should also know that masks don't stop virus transmission, but they do breed bacterial and fungal colonies. The prestigious Brownstone Institute has an article linking to 150 scientific research papers on the negative health consequences of masks. Why do so many people in the government deny the science? Gerald, Bungalow
According to Nine News, a “no tender” contract with Aspen Medical, a “global” company, cost Queensland taxpayers $108 million for one year of medical services at the Wellcamp Covid Gulag, despite fewer than 1,000 people having stayed there. That's over $108,000 per inmate - and most of them probably only need panadol and a box of tissues. No wonder Queensland is broke. Tony, Gordonvale
Joe Biden is the first US President whose inflation rate is higher than his approval rating. Republican, Cairns
Cairns may not be a "haven for ATO rorters" (CP, 23/7). The metric used is the number of dobbers. Therefore Cairns may simply be a haven for dobbers, with no more rorters than any other town. One Tooth Wally, Cairns North
How can people who refuse the rushed covid vaccines be responsible for polio in people who have been vaccinated against polio, Rick of Redlynch (23/7)? It's more likely that the covid vaccine is damaging the immune systems of those who get it and making them more vulnerable to polio despite their vaccination protection. MW, Redlynch
A White House spokesman said "70-plus per cent of Americans have had covid". Ironically, that's the same number who had the vaccinations which President Biden said would prevent them catching covid. Trump would have been impeached for lying like that. Colin, Mooroobool
Pam, Bayview (23/7). The reason Australian consumers get inferior meat from China is because our best meat goes to China's wealthy elite. They own us now, due to two generations of sell-out ALP and LNP politicians who put their own wealth and safety ahead of the sovereignty of our nation. Ex-ALP Voter, Cairns
