Electricity prices are set to soar from July 1.
Examples -
QLD up 11.3% to 12.6%.
NSW up 8.5% to 18.3%.
SA up 20%.
Gas is set to go up even more. Just remember when you're struggling to pay these bills that the "official" inflation rate is just 3.5%, and the answer, according to the incoming Energy Minister, Mr Chris Bowen, is "more renewables". God help us.
Now excuse me. I need to go gather some dry twigs so I can cook my offal.
