The Greens can't do maths (CP, 5/5). One million new homes multiplied by the median house price of $700,000 equals $700 billion. Where's the money coming from when the Greens want to kill mining and farming, and manufacturing is already at death's door? Vivian, Mooroobool
The state government's breaches of our privacy are worse than most know. The premier's father is head of a DNA storage company called the GTA Foundation that has close ties to China's Beijing Genomics Institute (BGI). BGI Australia has an office at Herston, the same location as Qld Pathology where Prof Graeme Nimmo (husband of former CHO, Dr Jeannette Young) works. Nimmo and Henry Palaszczuk are mates. Connect the dots, people. Insider, Cairns
About 30 years ago the global warming saga ramped up and we were predicted to get stronger cyclones more often. The insurance industry joyously jacked up its premiums in the cyclone belt. Yet we've had fewer cyclones and they've been weak. This season we had none. Thanks for the expensive insurance for nothing, climate science. Economist, Cairns
Look, building more police stations during a juvenile crime pandemic is like buying more flyswats during a mosquito plague. We stop mozzie plagues by spraying the swamp. We can stop juvenile crime pandemics by fixing the laws the ALP made useless. Actions must have consequences. These no-consequences crimes have become a profitable rite of passage in some circles. Steve, Redlynch
Steve of Edge Hill (5/5), please explain. What did the UAP have to do with the nickel refinery? Big Clive kept that place going for an extra six years after the Qld govt begged him to buy it, and it would have stayed going except the Qld govt wouldn't let him use a ship berth in Townsville. He tried to pay the workers out immediately but the federal government's liquidators blocked him until he beat them in court. The ALP and LNP were the problem, not Clive - and the UAP had nothing to do with it. Stop watching the ABC, mate. Barry, Parramatta Park
Pat O'Shane is unbelievable. She features prominently in the textbook "Red Over Black" about the communist influence on aboriginal activists. Communists are the most racist of all governments: just ask the Chinese Uyghurs. Cynic, Cairns
When you understand we're a carbon-based species reliant on a hydrocarbon-fuelled world the servos at Palm Cove have their own spectacular beauty. Motorhead, Mossman
Oops, I boo-booed yesterday - the iron ore export license is 15% after all. It makes no difference but. The only way we can get rid of the ALP-LNP Wu-Flu debt is to make Asia pay it. Cliff Mareeba
"Fined for breaches" (CP, 5/5) Funny how governments claim only they can know what's best for our health. Meanwhile fit, healthy sports people drop on the playing field and newscasters keel over at their desks after the forced jabs and nobody wants to talk about that. Elsie, Manunda
Oooh, how scary - a potentially deadly surge of 'flurona' (5/5). How about the experts explain why expected flu deaths during the covid pandemic were neatly replaced by covid deaths? Where did flu go those two years? Read the ABS report yourself if you think I'm dreaming. F.M.D., Yorkeys Knob
The ED's busiest day in history - but nothing whatsoever to do with the coerced injections, right? Chloe, Kuranda
The "servo surge" says people are betting big with their own money that the electric car fad never takes off. Juss Sayen
I've attended a few candidate forums and I've found Labor and Liberal candidates to be rather vacuous. It makes me wonder if they're chosen for their vacuity and capacity to spout rote learning like parrots. Mack, Kanimbla
Everyone knows politicians lie. Everyone knows public servants can be wrong. Everyone knows governments are made up of politicians and public servants. So why do so many people expect truth and accuracy from governments? Confused, Kuranda
Groan ... "As the climate warms ... flood zones were likely to expand..." (CP, 05/05). If it really was warming, the solution is to build flood mitigation dams, to deepen drainage channels, to build sea walls, and to install large pumping stations. But it's not warming because the seas aren't rising. I'm sorry, but that's the cold hard truth. Politicians and paid "experts" have both been known to believe things that just aren't true. Keith, Mooroobool
