“You can never trust the Liberals, Labor or The Greens again. At this election, all Australians must vote for the United Australia Party to protect their homes and their families,” Mr Palmer said.
--------------------------
Ever notice how Palmer NEVER mentions the Nationals, even though they hold 16 seats in the HoR? Conversely he ALWAYS includes the Greens, even though they only hold one, single, solitary seat.
Isn't that peculiar?

Seeing he was in the Liberals, could it be that he is speaking about the coalition when saying "Liberal"

"Seeing he was in the Liberals . . ."
Clive Palmer was never a member of the Liberals. He was made a lifetime member of the NATIONALS in 1992, for "services rendered".

Struth,
Your ignorance of Australian politics knows no bounds.
First, the LNP exists IN NAME ONLY, and then only in QLD. In every other state they remain the Liberal Party and the National Party.
In QLD they had to reform as the LNP after they lost a state election so badly, that individually neither group had enough MPs to qualify for the financial lurks and perks that go with being a recognised Opposition party. I'll stand corrected, but I think it was when they lost to Anna Bligh and the ALP in 2007.
Even here in QLD LNP members identify as either "Liberal", or "National". The ONLY time they are "LNP" is at election time. When they go to Canberra the "Liberal" members attend conferences and business with the other Liberals in the Liberal Party Conference Room, and the "National" members attend conferences and business with the other Nationals in the National Party Conference Room.
Second, Clive Palmer is not and never was a member of the LNP. Despite appearances Palmer's business HQ is in Sydney, and that's where he mostly lives. He was made a lifetime member of the NSW arm of the Federal National Party in 1992, fifteen years before the LNP even came into existence.

As I say, you're splitting hairs. The libs and the Nationals in Qld MERGED into the LNP....one party. Old Clive had a fair bit to do with that party and organising it.
If he wasn't in the LNP, no National ever was....is that what you are saying? No Liberal member was either?
It was a registered party, not a coalition, correct?
You're splitting hairs.

Faulty Towers,
The only political party I ever joined, and it lasted 12 months, was The Country Party back at the time of the push for "Joh for Canberra".
It went National Party (Uni-Party) soon after that failed and scuppered effort.
What is your side of beef with Palmer?
