Good blog. I tend to agree with most of the things written here and they are just not said elsewhere. It's a bit for me to navigate to make sure I haven't missed anything, but I'm getting used to it. I love Peter Campion's letters to the editor and the Lame Pics when they were regular.
Then it's a pity neither of you asked him why he and Hanson both voted in favour of the Online Safety Act 2021, which will now be used straight after the election to ban all online dissent in this country including this forum.
It's a tad more than just "a pity", Struth. It means that either Hanson and Roberts are just two more of the "useful idiots" you've been ranting about recently, or they are batting for the other team, despite some appearances to the contrary. Ditto for Craig Kelly, who also voted in support of the Online Safety Act.
As I wrote in response to Peter Campion the other day, Hanson, Roberts, and Kelly could clear the slate simply by publicly admitting they were duped and stating their opposition to this new censorship. But they won't.
Since they won't, it's increasingly hard to see them as some kind of a solution, rather than as part of the problem.
Well you haven't put your hand up to stand so i can't vote for you, and although I did put my hand up, they must've looked at my social media and decided I wasn't social enough. So It's just help out now. Who do you suggest with the differing levels of shit options?
Really, as far as I'm concerned the elections are all just charades but anywhere you can fight you must.
I haven't "put my hand up" (recently) because I'm 70, in poor health, I've been in hospital six times in the last twelve months, and had nine major operations. In fact I've only just got out again a week ago. I'm now basically a cripple in my home. But yes, I have run, and almost won, in the past. As an Independent. It's not that hard. Both to run, and to win.
If you're interested in doing the same, I will walk you through the "how to". Under the current circumstances it would not be impossible for you to make a decent tilt at a QLD Senate seat. But we would have to start pretty much immediately. I made the same offer to Peter Campion in last the State election. He turned around and did the exact opposite, got 328 votes, 1.6% of the first preference vote, and blew his deposit. You can do better.
To date you haven't "put your hand up", Struth. You applied to be one of Clive Palmer's candidates. Not nearly the same thing. As well as walking you through the process, I'll donate $200 to your campaign to get your kitty started, same as I did with Peter.
We've got too many on the so called right already here stealing votes from each other. I've already put my hat in with Tracy Bennett for wide bay. Spreading hats and T shirts at the markets etc. They're prettier than me, and younger. I haven't been joking about who I am. A middle aged to older white man who looks like the stocky truck driver awkward in a suit... By the way, did you notice nearly every fucking candidate in the SA election was a chicky babe?
