Six weeks from yesterday the Federal Budget will be presented to Parliament. Six weeks from tomorrow Parliament will be dissolved and an election called for either May 14 or May 21, around 12 weeks from this coming Saturday. That means nominations for candidates will close around April 15, at which time they will have to pay their nomination fee - $1,000 for HoR candidates, and $2,000 for Senate candidates.
You have stated an aim on your website of "winning government". That means you will have to field a candidate in every one of the 151 electorates, plus at least three candidates in each state, plus at least one for each of the Territories, making twenty in total for the Senate. Nominations fees, payable by April 15, are $1,000 for each HoR candidate, and $2,000 for each Senate candidate, making a total payable up front of around $200,000. These deposits are non refundable if you don't get at least 4% of the first preference vote. So banks will not provide you the money as a personal loan. However, they will extend your credit card limit to cover it, provided you own your home or similar asset.
This is money you need to come up with before you spend a single cent on campaigning, advertising, or anything else. On top of that, come election day, there are 151 electorates each with at least ten polling places, for a total of 1510. So even if you have people prepared to put in a full twelve hour day handing out how to vote cards by themselves, you will need 1510 volunteers. After the voting comes the scrutineering - you will need one for each polling booth - 1510. And they will need to be prepared to put in up to six hours - through to midnight.
I'm not writing this to upset or deter you, only to introduce a bit of reality into your efforts. Approached the right way it is possible you could get one, maybe even two people into the Senate. So, over to you. If you're interested, just say so. If not, then no harm done and I wish you all the best and hope you will continue posting here and keep us informed of your progress.
