I'm travelling through NSW at the moment. In Young I found all the employees stacking shelves at a well-known big-box chain hardware store were Pacific Islanders on 457 visas. Yes, I asked them. Build back better? Let's go, ScoMo! One Tooth Wally, Cairns North
You know Labor has been in power too long when there has to be a Fitzgerald enquiry into the Crime and Corruption Commission that Labor created (CP, 1/2). Ex-ALP Voter
Exactly right about modern teaching, Kevin Donnelly (CP, 1/2). Teaching has become centralised Marxist indoctrination with a heavy dose of bureaucratic cover-your-arsism. Schools need to be given back to communities to control and should compete with each other. Taxpayer funding needs to be pinned to each child, so when parents abandon a school their child's money goes, too. Penny, Kuranda
There's two types of people in this world - people who think the government is looking out for their best interests, and people who think. Carmelo, Innisfail
There's three problems with rail freight on the Kuranda Range (CP, 01/02). The track maintenance fee per ton is prohibitive, freight handling depots no longer exist on the Tablelands, and modern containers on modern rolling stock don't fit through the heritage-listed tunnels. Rail Buff, Cairns
Councils (CP, 1/2) are a bloated and wasteful creation of state governments. Get rid of them and create additional states instead, as provided for in our Constitution. Competition is the model on which all successful life is based. Require competition amongst a dozen or more states and Australia would bloom. Jack, Bayview Heights
"Protestors scream at police as convoy is blocked" - CP, 1/2. Just like the 2011 convoy to Canberra, our tin-eared politicians will pretend it didn't happen and or didn't matter. The last two years have shown us it's politicians vs the people. We can never trust the ALP, LNP or Greens again. Susan, Westcourt
Quarantine power rests with the federal government as prescribed by the Australian Constitution, so if ScoMo wanted to open all the borders, state and national (1/2), he could have done so at any time. He hasn't because he's working for the globalists. Conspiracy Analyst, Cairns
Re: "Losing faith in the covid ritual," (CP, 1/2). Everyone knows the covid rituals aren't about health - they're about signalling compliance to be part of a group at a time of government-enforced fear and isolation. We cannot comply our way out of modern government tyranny. JS, Edge Hill
When a Tesla (CP, 01/02) is in a crash, the tow truck operators must winch it onto their truck with its wheels locked, as wheel rotation can cause current generation and trigger a fire. They must also store it for three months in a pit or 60 metres distant from anything flammable, again due to fire risk. EVs have problems which are yet to be overcome. Electrical Engineer, Brinsmead
The problem with the Quaid Road (01/02) is the same as it's always been. It connects Southedge Dam to Wangetti Beach. It's just not central between anywhere populated. Mr Obvious, Earlville
