More people have died by suicide induced by depression created by the government nanny-state's absurd covid rules than died in the Mt Milligan mine disaster (CP, 20/9). An explosion of government caused the deaths in 2020-21 as surely as a gas explosion killed the miners. Stacy, Cairns
Love your list of ten great things about life in the far north, editor (CP, 18/09) Does that mean we can expect to see the Cairns Post lobbying for a release of UNESCO control of the vegetation on our "mesmerising mountains" so we can build a twin to Copperlode Dam and supply the drinking water for the young adults who "return to Cairns with families in tow?" Jennifer, Edge Hill
If companies really are facing a dilemma determining customers' personal medical histories, (20/9), the logical recourse would be to fight the government - not alienate their customers. When corporate and government interests align you have what is known as "Fascism." History Guy, Freshwater
If Peter Dutton's nuclear subs deal is as good for Australia's sovereignty as it appears on the surface (CP, 20/09) then our globalist left will start the usual hysterical leftwing witch hunt against him. He'll be accused of upskirting, or affairs with staffers or molesting choirboys or whatever it takes. If the left run silent it will be time to see if Biden has sold us a pup. Mark W. Redlynch
It's a mark of prudence to never place our trust in those who have deceived us even once. Now, who has never been deceived by governments? Pat, Cairns
CP. 20/9. OK, with tourism effectively destroyed and almost nobody dying of the sniffles we can all see the problem is government and not covid. There's only two people in a position to stop this insanity - the PM and the GG. The Prime Minister can defund the alarmist Premiers. The Governor-General can sack the PM for Constitutional breaches. C'mon, ScoMo, David - where the bloody hell are ya? Woz, Parramatta Park
My late mother-in-law was a bikini-clad shop assistant at the Green Island observatory when it first opened. It's where she met my late father-in-law, a WWII veteran. Both would be horrified to see that fascists now control all Australian governments. Why "fascist?" Because they get corporations to do some of their dirty work, just as Mussolini and Hitler did. Angela, Cairns
Apparently Victoria "needs a roadmap out of lockdown?" Easy. 1. Arrest Dan Andrews on charges of crimes against humanity. 2. Legalise GP prescriptions of covid cures. 3. Declare covid to be like any other flu. 4. Return to the old normal. Over to you, ScoMo. Higgs, Tolga
If just one person on the beach hasn't put on sunscreen, everyone could get sunburn. If just one person fails to put up their umbrella during a downpour everyone could get wet. If just one person doesn't get the jab everyone could get sick. Right? Danielle, Stratford
