Pollution plus traffic jams equals no covid in Wuhan

In January 2020 I was monitoring our bushfire pollution and comparing it to China’s industrial pollution via data from NASA’s TERRA satellite.
That data showed Wuhan’s first lockdown as their pollution dropped dramatically – but three months later it was back to normal.
That, and geolocation data from mobile phones that show where traffic jams are occurring in major cities, was solid proof that COVID-19 was over in Wuhan.
However the idea that COVID-19 was to be avoided regardless of economic or societal cost infected the political class in Western nations.
To that end they have squandered trillions of taxpayer dollars and destroyed trust in the mechanisms of our governments.
Nothing our governments have done has had a better result than if they’d simply said, “Could be a bad flu year, people – be sure to wash your hands regularly.”
In time we will know whether our current crop of national leaders are merely gullible or whether they are complicit in a plan for Chinese hegemony.
Covid Nuremberg now.

Why are the people who have had the vaccinations so upset by those of us who have not? Doesn't the vaccine protect them? Why would they care where I sit (CP 23/8) if they're fully protected? Aerial, Machans Beach
Covid is loose and active in parts of our densely populated cities. At the stated rate of spread everyone would have it by now mathematically. Don't claim lockdowns work because truckies are driving in and out of those areas without being tested. Who do they think delivers the food to the locked down supermarkets? Truckies mate, Smithfield
A little-known scientific study from the US found covid cannot spread outdoors because it is highly susceptible to being destroyed by ultraviolet light in sunshine. UV is exponentially stronger in the tropics, so the chance of outdoors transmission here is zero. The "learned" types bagging the Freedom marchers (CP, 23/08) exhibit their ignorance in a very embarrassing way. Jennifer, Edge Hill
My wife and I got double-vaxxed early so we could travel again. But we can't. Why not? Do the vaxxes work or not? I'm now regretting getting the vaxx. How do I remove it from my system? William, Brinsmead
If the standard of proof for vaccine deaths was the same as for covid deaths, there would be thousands of vaccine deaths and the vaccines would be withdrawn. If the standard of proof for covid deaths was the same as for vaccine deaths, there would be no pandemic. Cindy, Whitfield
When the full extent of the attack on our rights under cover of a "novel coronavirus pandemic" is known people will spit on politicians, health administrators and media employees. Cranky, Earlville
Serious question. Could something have been slipped into the refreshments at our parliament buildings to cause our administrators to become gullible, hysterical and deeply ignorant of current medical science? I can't think of any other explanation for their COVID-19 carry on. Old Hippy, Speewah
Reuters has reported that the FBI has found no evidence of any organised insurrection at the DC Capitol building on January 6. Nor were there any links to prominent Trump supporters. In other words, everything reported here in this paper about "The Insurrection" was fake news. John, Woree
You know the govt-media complex is obsessed and damaged when it starts using pejoratives such as "tinfoil-hat conspiracy theorist" and "covid denier" against its own voters/customers. They need our support, so they'd better stop hassling us or they won't be able to rely on it. Woz, Parramatta Park
I was at the March and I'm not a Covid denier or anti Vaxer. But I'm old enough to remember Thalidomide so I'm waiting for the human trials on the Covid Vax to finish and then I'll get it. I'll take my chances until then and that should have no effect on those who are Vaxed and what I do is none of their Business. Brian, Freshwater
It's claimed Covid spreads exponentially. Greg Hunt reported the first covid case coming forward from the community in January 2020. Exponential spread means it would have been ubiquitous in Australia within 25 days - i.e. before the international border was closed in March 2020. If we replaced the covid-virus tests with covid-antibody tests we might find the pandemic (such as it was) is already over, that we have herd immunity, and that we're back to normal flu death-rates. But for that to happen the government would have to stop panicking - and they can't. They're now addicted to their own adrenalin. PC, Tolga
If my Holocaust survivor grandmother was alive today she would be leading the protest marches. She said that once you've seen the horrors governments can inflict on the innocent you will fight to the death to stop it from ever happening again. And it's happening again right here, right now. Tamar, Earlville
The European database of suspected adverse drug reaction reports, EudraVigilance, has recorded 20,525 deaths from covid vaccines to July 31. How many must be killed by vaccines before they're withdrawn? Trev, Cairns
(CP, 23/8). The freedom rally protesters are exactly right. It's my body and I'll choose what goes into it - the government gets no say. And if they want to end up with very few aged care workers, just keep pushing for everyone to join this global medical experiment. Chloe, Kuranda
Monday morning and ScoMao announces the return of parliament despite lockdowns. If this was a real pandemic the politicians would be scaredest of all and there's no way they'd be setting themselves above the rules. Higgs, Tolga
Some people wouldn't recognise tyranny if it slapped a mask on their face, made them stand six feet apart and forced them to take a vaccine for a virus with a 99.9% survival rate. The Cairns Post cartoonist is one such person. Karl, Cairns
With respect, I beg to differ from the "Qld Health spokesman" (CP, 23/08). Covid-19 is a very treatable respiratory disease with a 99.8 per cent survival rate. The elderly and/or morbidly obese are the 0.2 per cent at risk - but even they could be saved with cheap drugs - EXCEPT THE GOVERNMENT BANNED DOCTORS FROM DOING SO!! And the AHPRA, a federal government agency, has promised to prosecute any doctor who does so. WAKE UP, AUSTRALIA! This ain't about a disease. Mark W. Redlynch
Wally, Bentley Park (CP, 23/08). Substitute "Jews" for "unvaccinated" and you'd have fit right into German society in 1939. That was another time and place where government worked to divide its own people, with the most gullible falling for it first. Janos, Aeroglen
Creating additional states was not Bob Katter's idea, Realistic (23/08). It was specifically provided for in our national constitution as an expected part of our growth. Present day state governments block all attempts to enact that provision because it would reduce their sphere of influence. Self-interest always beats public interest with modern politicians. Darryl, Westcourt
"Waiting for a deal" (CP, 23/08). Sounds to me like politicians know they've over-reacted to Covid and know they can't afford the taxpayer bail-outs for the industries they've ruined and they have no idea how to fix the mess they made so they'll blunder on and hope for the best. We are led by hopelessly stupid people. Joanne, Manunda

Boom! “US Capitol riot not co-ordinated: FBI'' (23/08). And just like that, the Democrats’ “January 6 insurrection” narrative is obliterated. No coordination means no insurrection occurred.
Moreover, the FBI’s conclusion means Roger Stone and Alex Jones presented narratives that were more accurate than those of the entire US media.
If legacy media wants to be in control of the narrative they must lift their game considerably and present facts instead of political spin.
At present, the “right-wing conspiracy theorists,” also known as the alternative media, are the only ones broadcasting verifiable facts.

RE: “Bid for Freedom,” (CP, 23/08), and the disaster unfolding in Afghanistan, President Trump described it succinctly on Telegram:
“Joe Biden gave our enemies all around the World a great and lasting victory when he unexpectedly and inexplicably removed our great soldiers from Afghanistan before taking out our U.S. citizens and allies, along with abandoning many billions of dollars of highest-grade Military equipment. Leaving our Military till the end was such a simple decision that anyone with intelligence and common sense would have made, but he called it wrong and instantly created perhaps the greatest embarrassment for our Country in its history—and it is far from over!”
However, Australians who get their news solely from legacy left-wing media (BIRM) will probably never hear this self-evidently truthful message. As President Trump would say, “Sad.”

Some seem unsure why Afghanistan fell to the Taliban so quickly. It's because the Afghan people are more closely aligned with the Taliban's beliefs than they are with western ideas. How about we just leave them alone now? They stay there and we stop going there. Desiree, Whitfield
I haven't seen plastic bags blowing around in the wild for years - until Saturday, when I saw two in quick succession. And you won't believe where - in Yungaburra, where FNQ's densest concentration of green virtue signallers live. Mick C., Malanda
Our politicians are trashing our democracy, breaching six Articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, breaking Australian law and destroying the economy all our lives rely on. Why do they think that would create trust in their vaccine promotions? Chloe, Kuranda
Chris Calcino (CP, 21/08). You know who I am and you know I read research as it comes off the scientific presses. I challenge you to find hard evidence that the scary "Delta variant" is any more deadly than the common cold. It isn't. Our leadership are either insane with covid hysteria or they have enacted a coup against Australians on behalf of the WEF. My connections to federal politics cause me suspect the latter. You're on the front line in this, Chris, so when will you start fighting for us instead of for them? Higgs, Tolga
Why were Freedom Rallies super spreader events but BLM gay pride parades were not? Politics, anyone? Stella, Cairns
Consider this: the oil to fuel my truck is drilled by adults paid above average wages and the cobalt for your electric car is mined by children on slave wages. Tammy, Innisfail
The last dozen or so climate protests reported in the Cairns Post have shown seven to ten protesters. The Freedom Rally against government covid draconianism attracted about 700. It seems freedom matters a lot more than left wing climate beliefs. Jennifer, Edge Hill
If Councils didn't make dumping waste so expensive, having the hide to charge us to drop stuff off at dumps when we already pay for that through rates. That's why there is illegal dumping (CP, 21/08) - they want people to pay twice. Fixing that ain't rocket surgery, but Councils find not understanding simple messages to be quite profitable. Ratepayers, Edge Hill
It is now clear that if we care about our natural rights we cannot vote for Labor, Liberal, Greens, Nationals or Katter candidates. None or almost none of those parties' MPs have defended our rights from covid tyranny. Ex-ALP Voter, Cairns

CP. 21/8. Of course the govt has contrived a savage slash to jobs. Can't have a Great Reset without it. How long until the dopiest generation of journalists ever realise their jobs are doomed too unless they shake off their compliant stupor and go after the criminals in our govt doing this to us? Woz, Parramatta Park
Now that the Taliban control Afghanistan they will close the churches, pubs and cinemas. They'll violently suppress live music and public protests. They'll even ban people from travelling from one town to anoth... no, wait, sorry... that's Australia. Gibbo, Earlville
Americans aren't suffering mean tweets from Trump any more. They're getting them from the Taliban now instead. VL, Smithfield
Either the media don't understand the damage they're doing to Australia, in which case they're merely stupid, or they do understand, in which case they're dangerously corrupt. Stephen, Forest Gardens
(CP, 21/08) ScoMo, you're deluded, mate. You've made no "deal" with Australians. Many of us reject you and your covid hysteria. We resent your impositions and we only make a show of obeying because we can't afford the fines handed out by police that now display Gestapo-like behaviours. Poor fella, my country - our freedoms lost to hysterical medical tyranny, as seen on TV in documentaries about Nazi Germany. Mark W. Redlynch
Who brought cane toads to Queensland? Academics. Who brought Gamba grass to the NT? Academics. Who ignored Australia's pandemic plan to bring in covid hysteria? Academics. You seeing a pattern yet? Darryl, Westcourt
"Thousands of tourism jobs in peril" (CP 21/8). None of the government responses to covid have benefited us - all have been proven ineffective, both clinically and from 18 months lived experience. The Australian
On Saturday 21/08, evening TV news bulletins showed Australian police using an AR-15 variant to shoot at Australian protesters who just want to be free to live normally.
Our right to protest is locked in by the Australian government’s signature on the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The UDHR cannot be set aside by any government decree.
And yet, kinetic rounds were projected at high velocity through a rifled barrel directly at Australians for simply demanding that their rights be respected by our governments.
Yes, these projectiles are euphemistically called “pepper balls,” but they are designed to inflect excruciating pain and can remove an eye. The pepper dust just adds insult to injury.
Our government’s responses to Covid-19 and to the protests against those responses breach UDHR Articles 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 16(3), 18, 19, 20(1), 21(2), 23(1), 27(1), 28 and 30.
Covid-19 can be disregarded as a priority compared to reining in our tyrannical governments, who seem to be escalating their psychosis-induced war on ordinary Australians.

Excuse me, Mr Editor, but Copperlode Dam was a Council project, the Cairns City Council ran Cairns' original coal power electricity generator but now only builds unreliable solar generators and Councils elsewhere have built overpasses. Sack your fact checker at once. Moorooboolian, Cairns Tanya Plibersek was saying that we've got to stick up for the human rights of the Afghan people. Australia is a full signatory to the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Our governments covid responses and proposed vaccine passports breach six different Articles of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Yet nobody in Labor has said a word about that. Barbara, Mt Sheridan How many feminists have flown to Afghanistan to stick up for women's rights against Taliban misogynists? I'll wait. Stuart, Cairns (CP, 20/08). Wait, what? Full-time Cairns Regional Councillor Rob Pyne says he's "ill, disabled and has no income." Could the editor fact check that for us? He may be ill and disabled but the full-time job says both conditions are well-managed. And I'm pretty sure Councillors get quite a hefty pay cheque - so has he been refusing his pay? You'd reckon that'd be newsworthy. Ratepayers, Redlynch If anyone should ask me for a vax certificate or negative test for covid I'll be asking to see theirs for drug-resistant tuberculosis, which is far more infectious and deadly than covid. Oh, and drug-resistant tuberculosis cases from PNG are routinely treated in Cairns Hospital without fuss or panic. Mark W. Redlynch If you go to the Therapeutic Goods Administration website apps.tga.gov.au/Prod/daen/daen-report.aspxSafety information & education This section includes links to articles about the general safety of medicines and medical devices, including how the safety of products i apps.tga.gov.au and search their "Database of Adverse Event Notifications - medicines" for "Covid" and select AstraZeneca and Comirnaty (Pfizer) you will see this: "Number of cases where death was a reported outcome: 429." That's from the start of the vaccination campaign in February 2021 to May 22, 2021, because the last 90 days data are not available yet. How is that not worse than Covid itself? Chloe, Kuranda Hahaha, the giant coral off Orpheus Island is about 420 years old (CP, 18/8). That means it survived both the little ice age and the modern warm period - which debunks the Reef alarmism industry totally. Mariner, Portsmith I've lodged Freedom of Information requests with the federal health department, the Prime Minister & Cabinet office, the state health department and the Premier's office for the communication to the media that asked them to ban all mention of Ivermectin as a Covid cure. The last time I got the word "Ivermectin" into print was in May 2020. If the govt asked the media to collude with them to suppress Covid cures, then heads must roll. Higgs, Tolga (CP 18/8) Boris Johnson is dreaming if he thinks the Taliban are going to keep a deal made with Trump that Biden broke as soon as he got to office. Julie, Cairns NSW MP Victor Dominello has Bell's Palsy (CP, 20/8). Bell's Palsy is a listed side effect of the AstraZeneca covid vaccine, which Dominello recently bragged on Twitter about receiving. Why weren't those facts reported? Kayleigh, Brinsmead With the NSW-Qld border locked down by the military, it seems like such a long time ago that the left didn't believe in borders. But it was less than two years back. Never look for consistency in the left. Woz, Parramatta Park Have we seen any proof that the Delta variant (CP, 20/08) is worse than the common cold? Because recent history and statistics point to it being just that. Darryl, Westcourt "Tough state of mind is tempered by disaster" (CP, 20/8). Can anyone tell me exactly which legislative instrument overrides the Australian Constitution, and the federation for which it provides the rules, for a health matter? Because as far as I can find out, there is none. And that means some of our politicians are criminals. Joanne, Manunda

Those people urging on government tyranny are really just hoping the crocodile eats their enemies first and comes for them last. Tradie, Caravonica
As a hermit who doesn't own a TV, the only evidence of a pandemic I've seen are one-sided reports in the newspaper and the declining mental health of friends and family. I don't know anyone who has died solely from covid but I do know people who have suicided because lockdowns destroyed their business or their sanity and I know of people who died from undiagnosed disease because they did not want to further overload the medical system that actually had plenty of empty beds. Mick C. Malanda
I practically lived in Lake Placid in the 1970s. There were no crocs there then. They're there now because of environmentalists - who can never strike the necessary balance with reality. If your kid is eaten by a croc in the creek you can blame greenies. Craig, Kamerunga
We're against a cat curfew (24/8). Any restrictions on cats always results in an increase in rats and mice. We can't put a curfew on rodents, so it's counter-productive to put one on their natural predator. Dennis and Jason, Port Douglas
I'm getting really sick of low-info left-wingers assuming that politicians never lie. Neither climate change nor Covid-19 are supported by hard science. They are both political. Wake up and stop believing people who only care about power. Higgs, Tolga
I'd rather take my chances with a novel coronavirus than a government that seems determined to reenact all the mistakes of the Nazis and the Communists in WWII and afterwards. We look more like 1930s Germany than we do 2020s Australia. Mark W. Redlynch
President Trump is right. "Everything woke goes to sh!t." When will people understand that wokism is actually an attack on our society by our ideological enemies? Republican, Cairns
Woke Wiggles, eh? Joseph Stalin was big on indoctrinating the kiddies. Now his legacy is carried forward by the communists who wear "our" ABC as a skinsuit while demanding respect they have not earned. Hawk, Stratford
Danny O'Shane, does the Irish side of your genetic heritage oppress the aboriginal side? Is that why your aboriginal side is always complaining but we never hear from your Irish side? Redneck, Cairns
Only the elderly and the morbidly obese die of covid. Both groups routinely die after contracting various flus. It is to extend their lives by weeks that our governments have ruined two years of the education of our young and two of the best years of life of our young adults. That is wrong on every level. It's time to step away from covid extremism. Jen, Edge Hill
(CP, 24/8) The JCU political scientist is on the right track but is not yet at the station. The fact that government edicts are all over the shop and restrictions are not obeyed by politicians and movie stars can logically only be because this is not about a virus. If the virus was as deadly and contagious as claimed we wouldn't have seen a politician or movie star outside their houses for 18 months. Steamed, Redlynch
Danny O'Shane if you feel oppressed you can always go bush and live off the land, mate. There's plenty of UN-protected WHL rainforest quite close to you. Just don't take any oppressor technology with you. Fran, Yorkeys Knob
If the vaccines don't stop people spreading the virus, doesn't that disintegrate the argument for vaccine passports? Brady, Cairns
Whether it's covid or climate change, with lefties (Pauline, Geoff, 24/8) it's always their way or the highway. If you don't agree with them they call you names. Pathetic. Woz, Parramatta Park
Ross L. Grant (CP, 24/08), you need to get out more. No hospital has been overwhelmed by covid, except in Italy in early 2020. That's why you never see footage of overwhelmed hospitals. It's also why the New York Army tent hospital was packed away without being used and the Navy hospital ships were sent back to their home ports. It's a fiction, Ross; relax, man. Joanne, Manunda
(CP, 24/08) Deaths from natural disasters are down dramatically in the past century due to improved technology, so there's no "increase in climate deaths." Deaths from disease are also down dramatically due to better medical care and the 2017 flu season claimed more lives than covid. The truth is out there and we're told differently because that's how some people make a living. Darryl, Westcourt

wonder how the CIA feel about Biden handing their Afghanistan poppy-growing assets over to China? Fern, Holloways Beach
It's wonderful that covid has shown the true effectiveness of paper and cloth masks at stopping even the tiniest particles. The mining, firefighting, sand-blasting and spray-painting industries will save a fortune on clunky old respirators and pressurised air-line masks, etc. Kevin, Woree
This whole pandemic is built on the RT-PCR test. The US CDC has determined that it cannot tell the difference between COVID-19 and Influenza A and B. They are changing the test from January 01. What's the bet COVID-19 vanishes and the flu (that had largely disappeared) comes roaring back? Haley, Earlville
Covid19 has ruined TV and radio for me. I'm so sick of government fear-porn I've switched them off for the foreseeable future. Even most of the newspapers are devoted to vax promotion disguised as news. I'm so over it - it's so over-played. This time last year I'd have had the flu vax - but not any more. The trust is gone. Mildew, Westcourt
I normally agree with Bill Cummings (CP, 25/8), but not this time. The vaccines don't prevent catching, spreading or dying of covid, nor do they provide herd immunity. It's time for the blinkered "experts" in our governments to learn from Florida and Sweden that drugs aren't always the answer. Jennifer, Edge Hill
The same greenies who have opposed every single modern Genetic Modification (GM) improvement in human food production now demonise people who decline a gene-modifying vaccine designed to block an allegedly genetically-modified virus. Where's their consistency? Bethany, Aeroglen
I must disagree with the writer of the Insanity Streak cartoon (25/08). We do need to worry. While we have been through pandemics in the past, this one isn't like those old apolitical ones. We are seeing governments everywhere leveraging a power grab over their own citizens in the name of a fairly typical flu in a very internationally coordinated way. That's unprecedented and it does not bode well. Clive, Edmonton
Knowing as we do now that the covid tests yield false positives, why are we telling people with no symptoms to get tested? All that's going to do is create false positive results which the tyrants that run our formerly democratic governments will use to strip us of more wealth and freedom. Kato, Cairns
A key point missed by Mike O'Connor (25/8) is that Kefu and his family wouldn't have had to engage in hand-to-hand combat with home invaders armed with axes and machetes if the government hadn't stolen our right to self-defense and defence of home and family with firearms. A recent US news report highlighted this. As the assailants kicked in a homeowner's door he opened fire and they fled - all caught on CCTV. Terri, Cairns
Describing a natural weather system as a "bomb" is pure alarmism (CP, 25/08). That sort of rubbish is why the media is losing consumers at a record rate. I want to vote for someone who will get this unhelpful slanting of weather reports out of the news cycle. Faye, Bayview Heights
Can anyone tell me why so many banks and insurance companies have suddenly decided to stop offering new life insurance policies for sale? Are they worried about early payouts due to vaccine-related injuries and deaths? Mark W. Redlynch
"Bad backs hurt wallet" CP, 25/8. This is just one area of health where the pharmaceutical industry wants to treat symptoms forever, with profits forever, instead of just curing the condition. People are going to be very upset when the Covid Nuremberg Trials reveal that the pharmaceutical industry didn't just block Covid cures like ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, it's been hiding cures for a range of diseases - including some types of cancers. Joanne, Manunda
For $700,000 per inmate I could build an escape-proof fence around a market garden and a camping ground with tents for youth criminals to work and live in. The market garden sales would reduce daily costs to much less than $300 per inmate. But politicians don't want to fix youth crime because they get publicity talking about it. M. Potter, Whitfield
Good grief, David Littleproud, whose government is paying for Australians to stay home, is bringing in guest workers for the agricultural industry - where the workers will send most of their Australian pay back to their families in their home country. I guess we can't have a Great Reset until we've destroyed our economy, right, David? Gael, Mossman
Anybody who wasn't yet certain that Joe Biden is an idiot and the worst US president ever only needs to read "Biden 'in the right' but the clock is ticking" in Wednesday's paper. Crime has consequences and Biden's Afghanistan disaster is what happens when Democrats steal presidential elections. Pat, Cairns
(CP, 25/8) China is now leading the nuclear arms race, eh? And that news comes straight after China unleashed the panicdemic virus on the rest of the world. It's time we bought some Virginia class nuclear subs from the US and dumped the WWII-era Mincing-Poodle diesel subs the French are ripping us off for. Davos Dave, Cairns
Do you find that things related to Covid just don't add up? That's how you can be certain we're being gaslighted. Woz, Parramatta Park
I ripped me leg open on site a couple of years back. Got the tetanus vax, no hesitation. In five year's time when covid vax is well proven I might have it too. But don't try and push me into it before I'm ready. I have a shovel and I know how to use it. Tradie, Caravonica
Ley James (25/8). The news out of Israel, the second most vaxxed people in the world, is saying the opposite to you. It's saying the vaxxes have efficacy as low as 20 per cent and wear off after eight months - requiring booster shots forever. If the vaxxes worked why can't early vaxxers, such as William (24/8) travel? I've had all the old, proven vaxxes. Covid vaxxes are not the same thing. Chloe, Kuranda
Want proof that covid is purest left-wing politics? Sean McGinn (25/8) loves lockdowns. Lockdowns for climate soon, eh, Sean? PC, 4882
The epic failure by the Cairns Council and the Brisbane government to plan for the water needs of a growing city is no coincidence. The left have long blocked growth in FNQ and have used international conventions to do it. There's plenty of viable dam sites close to Cairns. All we need to do is dump the "World Heritage Listing" of the nearby bush. After all, that bush is our heritage - it doesn't belong to the "World." Let the "World" look after their own bush properly before they start locking ours away from us. Moorooboolian, Cairns
Even the most radically left international news sources, such as MSNBC and the New York Times are shaking their heads in disbelief at what has become of Australian governance in the covid era (CP, 25/08). It is being mentioned that we have become a World Economic Forum test case. Federal health minister Greg Hunt worked for the WEF for two years, has been awarded a medal by Klaus Schwab, and has Schwab's "Great Reset" book in his office. Higgs, Tolga
If you've ever wondered whether you would have complied in 1930s Germany, well, now you know. Tamar, Earlville
Instead of drawing water from the Mulgrave at Gordonvale and then being dependent on increasingly expensive electricity to filter it and pump it (CP, 25/08), why not simply build a dam on the upper Mulgrave River, let the rainforest filter it and gravity can distribute it? If the agreement we signed with the UN prevents that dam being built then we'll need to accept that it was a stupid agreement, tear it up and exit the UN. Darryl, Westcourt
