Re – “This virus is a killer” (DT, 17/07)
I can only partially agree with Sarah Blake.
What “this virus” has killed is our trust in experts, government and the legacy media.
What it hasn’t killed is more people than most influenzas of the last five years.
The locked-in, non-negotiable, hip-joining of Big Tech, legacy media and governments are actually serving to further our distrust of “experts.”
I had the tetanus booster vaccine last year, but I won’t take the covid vaccine until the human trials are successfully concluded – somewhere around 2030.

Re – “Rudd’s vaccine role” (C-M, 17/07).
The mere fact that Kevni “Pink Batts” Rudd supports vaccines is enough to put me off them.
Kevni’s wrongology is legendary; it's why we sacked him from the top job.

That the leftwing media is hyperventilating about Barnaby Joyce stating the obvious about the Chinese spy ship off our coast really makes one wonder where their loyalties lie. Rajesh, Redlynch
Gotta love how some Aussies have taken to sneering at those of us who don't share their confidence in rushed, experimental vaccines for a coronavirus with a 99.9per cent survival rate. They get all their info from legacy media seemingly unaware that most of us rate journalists about as trustworthy as used care salesmen and politicians. One Tooth Wally, Cairns North
Fully-vaccinated American rock band Foo Fighters held a concert but required the audience to show proof of vaccination when buying their tickets. Afterwards they cancelled their planned concert tour because one of them had contracted covid anyway. Danger Dan, Smithfield
State governments have proved that coronaviruses cannot be contained - so they should stop trying to. We can't afford the dollar cost. If they also stopped testing for covid19 they would just have an ordinary annual flu season and that's never been a drama before. The real disease seems to be insanity infecting politicians and public health officers. Jeannie, Kurrimine Beach
Sounds like John Kerry just copped a dose of good old Russian misinformation (CP, 16/07). The Russians have a climate model that is accurate. It doesn't emphasize CO2-forcing. They know there's no climate problem. But they do want access to US taxpayers dollars, so Putin says what Kerry wants to hear to achieve that objective. Higgs, Tolga
Notice how the moment ScoMo put federal financial support back on the table LockDan Andrews jumped straight back into murdering his state's economy? How does he expect Victoria to survive when all the money runs out? Chinese "loans?" Mark W. Redlynch
"Lowest jobless rate in a decade" - after 18 months of the immigrant intake being slashed. Coincidence? Yeah, nah - the Qld treasurer reckons they created jobs by forcing businesses to close. No wonder they need extra spin doctors. Tina, Manoora
Woah, what now? "There would be a lot of activities after hours and more police needed if there was a bridge." Quick! Get rid of the bridges! We have after hours activities and need more police because of the bridges! Why didn't anyone ever realise this before? Sarcoff, Cooktown
Now that South Africa is on the verge of total collapse (CP, 16/7) will we finally accept the racially victimised minority from there as refugees? Full disclosure; they're white - but that shouldn't still be a problem, right? Woz, Parramatta Park
D'ya know why lightning struck the George Floyd mural in Ohio? It's obvious, really - climate change and racism. Had to be. Sadtifa, Earlville
Warren Entsch was first aboard the Reef Alarm Express and pandered to the greenies endlessly - but now it's all come back to bite us he's had an epiphany. How predictable for a career populist politician. Jason and Dennis, Port Douglas
Ray Benn (16/7) nobody is claiming there are microchips in the vax. It's the excessive amount of graphene oxide that is causing the reactions and side effects. This year Australia has had more deaths from the jab than from covid. Sceptic, Manunda
Vaccination passports are a great idea, but they should also include details of all vaccinations, current medical conditions and ongoing medications. It'd be nice to know someone was bipolar or suffering chronic fatigue syndrome before hiring them. Trader, Cairns
(CP, 16/07) As the southeast "masks up" again there must, by now, be some empirical evidence that they actually work to stop viruses. However I cannot locate it on the Qld Health website. Can anyone help find the actual research paper underpinning the govt advice? Darryl, Westcourt
Good Lord, the Premier is hiring spin doctors at a faster rate than some critical frontline workers (CP, 16/7). What does that tell us? They wouldn't need any spin doctors at all if everyone on the public payroll simply stated the truth all the time. Ethel, Redlynch

Luke Lantman, (Letters, 17/07), I agree but, very frighteningly, there's a cabal of "Nuremberg deniers" in modern western governments who claim prosecutions can only be made if the country has signed up to an international treaty relating to the Nuremberg Code's outcomes.
However, in any other field, the mere existence of a document like the Nuremberg Code would automatically mean that it is "world's best practice" and therefore it would be adhered to as if it was international law - which we see all the time with "climate."
This "pandemic" never was about SARS-Cov-2 and has always been about introducing centralised totalitarianism, something all our shallow-thinking governments seem to support despite the fact that it will make them as irrelevant as Cairns is to Canberra.
