Yes, I could be a lurker here. Haven't 'registered' yet, can't really commit to joining too many fora, groups etc. Never been on Twatter or Faceache for instance. I'm still happy to read Catallaxy if it re-opens, especially the main threads, but am trying in general to avoid commenting anywhere and put my attention to serious writing. I am a chatterbox though, so youse'll all have to watch out if I don't watch myself. I like the term 'Stray Cats' for that is what we are, that is what brings us together. Lizzie G'day Lizzie
Great to hear from you and whatever you want to post is fine by me.
I just thought and I will set it up as soon as I have posted this but I'll create an Area where whomever wants to can have their own section to be able to lay out thoughts and musings.
Trust you are all well
Cheers Denis NFA

Now, this is your Forum, NFA, so do we now call you doomlord, and have you all of a sudden felt you have a soft spot for Malcom Turnbull and Blockchaining?
I do have a soft spot for Block Chain Technology actually and I'll put up a section for that.

Yeah thanks MV, but my photos will need to be compressed, so I won't bother.

Haven't heard a thing. Of course this is going on while I have plenty to do outside today. Beautiful day here in QLD and a bloke is coming round to look at the truck, wonders will never cease. I sent emails to the TopCat asking if this was a collective punishment for bad behaviour of a few, or was there some other issue. I could only think of legal threats or a system malfunction. It's all faintly weird. No answer, was the stern reply.

As I have pointed out several times over the past few years, forget CO2, climate is cyclical. There are 30 cycles of warming and cooling, governed by the two main ocean currents - the Pacific Decadel Oscillation (PDO), and the Atlantic Multidecadel Oscillation (AMO). Aka the Atlantic Conveyor.
These cycles in turn fit into a 150 cycle of sunspot activity. 150 years of warm, followed by 150 years of cool. From 1700 until 1850 was the period known as the Little Ice Age (LIA). From 1850 until 2000 we had 150 years of increasing solar activity, and generally warming temperatures. In 2004 the sun went quiet again, starting with what is known as a Grand Solar Minimum.
We are now back where we were in the early 1700's. Get used to it folks. Only another 120+ years to go.

Oh dear....we've got to get Tom over here! Before I go cap in hand to the doomlord for Tom's email do any of you guys have it and there are plenty of others that will need to be made aware. Looks like Doomy may have had enough. Which is fair enough.

Good morning Struth. I disagree about the Doomlord. I reckon if he had pulled the pin the Cat would have all shut down at the same time, instead of article by article as was done. Second, I think he would have physically closed the site, not just left it the way it is now.
I reckon we'll find out later today. Here's hoping, anyway.

Yes, this could be a great gathering point, I'm concerned about how much these forums will allow said, however, at this point in time, whether the Cat goes back to normal or not, we need an alternative gathering point just in case. And it may work out to be quite a free forum yet.
